Christmas Surprises

Christmas morning dawned calm and quiet. The usual morning traffic noise was muffled by the snow that had fallen last night. The apartment was warm and Lucas was fast asleep, cuddled up to Maya.

BANG BANG BANG

"MAYA! LUCAS! OPEN UP!" Maya groans and pulls the covers over her head. Lucas laughs and heaves a sigh.

"You know she'll just keep banging on the door if we don't open it."

"I know. It was stupid of me to think we'd actually get to sleep in today." Maya replies with a yawn.

Lucas runs to open the door which reveals Riley and a very sleepy Farkle. Riley runs right over to Maya and hugs her. Farkle heads straight for the couch.

"Merry Christmas everybody!" Riley exclaims as she takes a seat next to Farkle.

"Riles, must we do the 6 AM wake up call every year? Can't we push it back a couple hours?" Maya asks.

"Peaches, it's Christmas! You can sleep in for the rest of the week but today we wake up early!"

The four friends sit and exchange gifts. Zay and Smackle come over and they all sit and chat over some hot chocolate. It's warm and happy and the most perfect Christmas.

"Hey, there's a present here." Zay says, holding up a smile rectangular shaped present.

"Who's it to?" Farkle asks.

"It says it's to all of us!" Smackle exclaims. Everyone moves in closer to see. Sure enough, right on the tag, it says it's to all of them.

"Should we open it?" Riley asks nervously.

"Of course you should!" Maya says with a knowing smile. She's been waiting for this gift all night.

They all huddle around while Riley opens it. She opens the box and then slams it shut. "Here, Lucas. I think you should see it." Lucas is confused. He opens the present and gasps.

"Maya..." he looks up to his blonde beauty and sees the smile and the nod she gives him, confirming what was in the box. He swoops down and kisses her breathless.

"What is it?" Smackle asks. She's just as confused as Zay and Farkle who still haven't seen the box.

"We're having a baby!" Lucas exclaims. He holds up the positive pregnancy test. Everyone freaks out. Riley is crying, Zay is smacking Lucas on the back, Smackle is doing a dance, and Farkle stands there a little shocked.

"Maya, when?" Riley asks.

"I'm due in June." Maya replies with a smile.

"Congratulations!" Farkle says with a smile.

Much much later, Maya and Lucas lay in bed. Lucas is on cloud nine. Maya and him were going to have a baby. He couldn't even fathom it. He was so happy. He pulls Maya closer to him and breathes in deep. She smelled like vanilla and strawberries.

"I love you, Maya."

"I love you, Lucas. You think we're gonna be okay?" Maya asks worriedly.

"We'll be just fine."
