previously:
"you need to help me"
he demands, pulling me out of my room, his steps quick towards the room at the very end of the hallway.

oh no. it's the room. the one i walked into when i assumes he had left.

immediately i know it's more than just a warning. who ever standing behind that door is dangerous, and the thought of me having to help baekhyun out means that i have to hold a gun. i don't want to hold one again.

***

guarded by weapons in both my hands, i hide my shivering body behind baekhyun's, the constant banging on the door silencing my heavy breathing.

baekhyun gently shifts his still body, his eyes meeting mine with assurance and care and he nods his head as a sign to proceed.

i watch as he reaches for the door with ease, revealing three armed officers, red lasers almost blinding my vision.

"drop your weapons. now!"
their synchronized voices ring through my ears unpleasantly, and i try to keep calm as i watch baekhyun willingly let his gun slip from his grip and hit the ground.

following protocol, i expose my weapons with no clear aim, resting my shaking wrists on baekhyun's shoulder before pulling both triggers.

immediately, two of three of the men fall on to their backs from the sudden power from the guns, baekhyun fearlessly grabbing the last standing man's weapon while it's still aimed towards him.

i mouth the word sorry before aiming the metal object in my hand at the man, his tinted glasses making it easier for me to break our gaze with the sound of another blow.

with his gun now in baekhyun's hand, he takes another hit, this time from baekhyun, falling on to his knees, before collapsing next to his partners.

i swallow the growing lump in my throat as i stand frozen without emotion running through my body.

"good job, princess"
baekhyun almost whispers as he drags me over their bodies, completely unfazed by their still souls.

i observe our surroundings, nothing but two cars in the driveway.

they were undercover cops. what made them come? why didn't i just surrender and tell them everything i have been put through to this day?

baekhyun orders me to get in his car, the weight of his body shifting the car to one side before mine balances it out once again.

i'm more or less accustomed to his reckless driving from situations like such, my hands grasping on to my seatbelt, my finger nails dug into the thick fabric.

the car ride is as silent as ever, baekhyun's attention committed to the road as he zooms down the roads formed from pebbles and dust.

within an hour, which felt more like a day, we come to a screeching halt in the parking lot of a motel.

the sign is almost too worn out to read, the light blown out.

nothing but silence as the night engulfs my empty soul, the both of us stepping out to breath the air we so selfishly took from those three men.

baekhyun marches to the back of the car, the sound of the truck popping gravitating me towards his direction.

i see his broad body lean down and reach for an item before pulling out what seems to be a navy hoodie.

i frown, as i stare at the packed space in the truck, duffle bags and briefcases filled to the very top.

he knew, didn't he? he was waiting for their arrival.

"put this on"
he gently throws the hoodie into my open arms, reaching down to retrieve one for himself as well.

without any commands, he slams it shut, slipping into the fabric and pats it down before reaching for my hand.

i stay quiet as i give him a part of me, following him to the office.
