Antonio's POV

"Aye! We're finally here, amigo!" I exclaimed as we arrived at the store entrance. "Yeah," Lovi replied.

He had been saying how I grew quite I bit since I'd last seen him. At first I hadn't thought much of it, but he was right. He looked a lot smaller than I remembered.

Although that didn't matter. It only served to make him even more adorable.

His single stray curl stood apart from the rest. Today it curled to form a heart. I remembered he would never let me touch it, but never said the reason why.

"Oye, what happens if your curl gets pulled Lovi?" My Spanish accent was very prevalent today. That happened whenever I was nervous, which apparently was right now.

"Um.. I.. n-nothing.." he answered, his cheeks tinted a deep crimson. Oh, how cute he looked right then.

"Fine fine, I'll just ask you again later," I said with a smirk. "For now, let's buy your swim trunks!"

We walked into the store and were greeted by the smell of new products. After wandering through the entire store, we finally found the swimsuits.

We started looking through swim trunks and I found a red one with creamy white stripes on the sides.

"Lovi! Look at this one!" He turned away from the rack he was looking through and looked at the one I was holding.

He smiled. "It's perfect. Thanks Toni." We walked back to the cash register and payed for the shorts.

He changed into them in a changing room, then we walked to the airport. When we got there, it was 11:24.

"We barely made it amigo." I said as we gave the flight attendant our tickets and boarded the plane. We sat in silence most of the flight there, and Lovi fell asleep.

He looked so peaceful in his sleep. But, as soon as he woke up, his worry lines would return. If only he could look like this all the time.

I observed the way his hair swayed without any breeze moving it. His curl stood perfectly in the center of his head, swaying like a snake would when entranced in a snake charmer's song.

He breathed in slowly, and exhaled with a small puff out his mouth. This settles it, I thought. If I can't make those worry lines go away, and his sleep can, that means I'm not the one for him. He'd be better off if we stayed as friends.

No matter how much I loved him, it would be better if he found the one that was right for him. It would only be harder for him if we moved from the friend zone.

I have known all along that he's in love with me, but I couldn't hurt him like that. I had to ignore his hints, even though it broke my heart to see the sad expression on his face when I did.

He'd be better off without me as a boyfriend.

I softly started singing a lullaby. He smiled contentedly as the peaceful tune went into his ears, and seeing his relaxed face calmed my nerves. Yes, being friends wouldn't be so bad.
