"Mother! Mother, please! Why did you have to bring me here again?!" Persephone cried, her mother was outside, looking at her behind the glass walls of the greenhouse.
"I knew it, I shouldn't have... showed you to them, my beautiful... precious daughter" Demeter said almost quietly, looking at her possession.
Demeter cursed Hades under her breath, the brothers were known to be very full of themselves, and according to Poseidon, Hades was the worst of the three.
"Listen to me, Persephone," Demeter said with a stern tone, making sure her daughter was looking at her directly. "Whatever happens, do not go near any god... specially Hades, do you understand?" she finished with a grim tone, giving Persephone a chill.
Persephone quickly nodded, trying not to worsen her mother's anger. Demeter gave out a small smile, "I'll see you in a month, my sweet daughter" she said, bidding her goodbye and disappearing out of thin air.
Persephone sighed, she had nothing else to do besides crying, "Lady Perse..." Asteli emerged from the fountain's water, Persephone gave her a weak smile, she felt disheartened and disappointed. She thought things were going to go right this time...
Asteli walked towards her and sat beside where she was sitting, "Thank you for being here, Aste. It definitely makes me feel calmer having you here" Persephone said sincerely. Asteli smiled warmly, holding Persephone's hands in hers.
Asteli had always been watching over Persephone since she was a child, for some reason, of all the nymphs that were serving for her, Persephone liked Asteli the best, and Demeter wanting to spoil her daughter, let Asteli be her caretaker.
"I apologize for not helping you earlier, lady Perse" Asteli said softly, looking towards their hands.
Persephone let out a small chuckle, "Even if you did, she'd still end up doing this. She'd always been so irrational when it came to me, I just..." she sniffled, trying not to cry.
"I just wish she'd let me choose for myself... she always kept me in a glass container, always available for everyone to see but never to touch. I know that I'm absolutely clueless about gods... and about the world, but that doesn't mean I'm completely oblivious!" she ranted, her tears just started racing down her cheeks.
"Why does she treat me so much like a child?" she asked, looking at Asteli, "Am I that helpless?" she sighed, looking downwards. She suddenly started remembering about the celebration, about what happened... about Hades.
She'd read books about the other gods and goddesses, if not, then she'd heard about them from Hermes, and she's well aware of Hades' reputation.
The terrifying god of the underworld, the heartless blue-skinned monster... and several other names that the Olympians had came up for him. All her life, she had imagined him to be a monster, a scary looking god, but in contrary... he seemed like everything she ever loved-
Loved...? She mentally slapped her cheeks, what are you thinking about, Persephone? Are you crazy? Your mother just warned you about him, are you looking for a death sentence?
She sighed once more, now that she's thinking about him, she can't get him out of her head. "Is something wrong, lady Perse?" Asteli asked, looking concerned. Persephone shook her head as a reply.
It's been a few days since Persephone was left inside the greenhouse, she mostly spent her time making new plants and growing fruits for her and Asteli to eat.
They were caught by surprise by a sudden knock on the glass walls, "Persephone" she heard that same obnoxious voice she disliked.
She sighed even deeper than usual, of all the gods, she definitely didn't want to deal with this one.
But, knowing that her mother would find out if she were to ever be rude to any of them, she plastered a smile on her face and greeted the young god. "Apollo, what are you doing here?" she asked.
Apollo gave her a smile, which made him look even more conceited, just like his father, Zeus.
"My sweet, little pink goddess, why don't you open the doors to this place? I've come here with a gift" he said with his arms open, Persephone mentally groaned. "Only Hermes can go inside here, why didn't you have him deliver it to me instead?" she replied.
Apollo raised a brow, "Are you saying you'd prefer to see him instead of me?" he asked, slightly offended. "No, not at all," she smiled, "I just figured it would be better than having to burden you to bring your gift to me, I'm sure you're a busy man"
Apollo let out a chuckle, "Ah, all the more reason to feel grateful, having such a busy god like me visit you all the way here for a simple gift" he smirked, Persephone simply smiled at him, wanting to roll her eyes.
"However, it's such a pity that I can't be with you inside," he said with a small sigh, "Does Demeter always act like this?" he asked, Persephone looked at him, wondering why he was concerned about it.
"She've kept me here all my life, I suppose she didn't want that to change after all" Persephone answered simply, Apollo's eyes almost seemed like they glinted.
"Do you want me to get you out of there?" he asked her with a brazen grin, holding his hand out towards her.
