Persephone woke up, feeling a sharp pain at her core. She winced after remembering what happened, looking at Apollo, who was currently still asleep, with resentment.

She opened her legs slightly, noticing the dried juices of the god and her own blood. She started feeling grief, completely regretting her choices and blaming herself for deciding to leave her mother's secure cage.

Persephone turned in surprise, Apollo stretched out his arms, looking at her from behind. "Did you have a good sleep?" he asked, having that same old grin. Persephone simply turned away, wiping away a sole tear from her eye due to her frustration and anger.

This made Apollo mad, standing to his feet and crouching towards Persephone, he cups her face with one hand and levelled their gazes to each other. Persephone just glared at him with contempt, "Heh, cocky little bitch" he muttered under his breath.

He hits her across the face with the back of his hand, it made a loud sound and left a bad bruise on her skin. "You better know your place" he says sternly, walking away and leaving her alone.

"W-What do I do..." Asteli had been drowning herself in the fountain, this usually helped her calm down but it doesn't seem to work this time. I can't let Mistress Demeter know about this, she'll kill me and hurt Lady Perse!

She looked around, the once beautiful greenhouse is now filled with broken glass and torn up plants. If only Lady Perse was here... this would've been an easy task for her.

Asteli sighed, feeling helpless. She's just a simple siren, what could she possibly do? Swim to her in the Sun god's realm? There'd surely be barely any body of water there!

Anxiety and fear were rushing through her, but all she could do was worry and worry.

"Perse!" Asteli looked up, hearing a familiar voice. "Hm? Asteli? Where's Perse?" the young winged god asked, landing on the ground. "The... sun god, he took her" Asteli answered which made his eyes widen.

"Apollo? What's gotten into him?" he shakes his head while having his palm over it, "Should I tell Demeter?" the answer was clear after seeing Asteli's expression, he walked towards her and patted her head lightly.

"It's fine, I'll get her back, okay?" he said with a kind smile, throwing what seemed like a snow globe into an empty space, creating a vortex big enough for him to go through.

"Thank you" she said right before he stepped in the vortex, getting him to smile a little.

Persephone laid on the bed lifelessly, she felt physically and emotionally drained, the scenes from last night constantly replaying in her head, and it didn't feel nice.

Mother... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gone against your decisions... then I wouldn't be here right now.

Tears started welling up again, which she quickly wiped away. She didn't want to cry over her mistakes, over her... own choices.

She covered her eyes with her arm and started crying loudly, the stress getting the best of her. She kept blaming herself in her head, feeling traumatized over everything. Her mother was right, she's way too naïve for this world filled with selfish gods.

The curtains suddenly opened making her glance its way, she felt a wave of relief when she saw someone she could trust amidst what's happened.

"Oh no..." he said, looking mortified and guilty. He quickly rushed to her side and gave her a tight hug, "I'm so sorry I couldn't be here sooner" he said, almost starting to cry.

Before Persephone could even utter a word, Apollo came into the room, glaring at Hermes, "You bastard, she's mine!" he yelled, throwing a ball of light from his palm.

But before the two even got hit, Hermes had already teleported them away, back to the greenhouse. As soon as Persephone saw Asteli, she started bawling and yelling, Hermes felt bad for her and so did Asteli.

The crushing wave of regret, anger, loathing and disgust had completely swallowed Persephone whole, her mother was right. The world... specially the one she lives in, is a harsh reality.

And that was difficult to swallow.
