Dianne's POV:
I'm so happy that Karen has decided to trust me to take the beginners class. I think she's clearly worked out why I want to do it, but anything for some work experience. And it means I get to partner Joe. There's no way he can catch feelings for someone else now.
I'm a good best friend, I promise to myself, but I just don't want to see Joe get hurt. However, I also don't want to get hurt and at least one of those things is inevitable.
"So Dianne, you didn't tell me you were going to be taking the class I'm going to be in?" Joe asks as we comfortably walk down the road to Zoe's car together.
"More fun, isn't it? No, I've only just got the grant to do it." I say honestly.
"Oh." He replies. I feel compelled to continue.
"I want you to partner me. So when I'm teaching the younger ones, you can learn too." I know Joe doesn't realise that everyone will be younger than him.
"You won't feel stupid if you're learning with me. But you have to let them know you're learning too. They can be brutal." I warn him. I don't know if he believes me.
"I can't wait, partner." I shiver a little after he whispers and heads straight into the car.
"Here's some food for you." He passes me my favourite food and I couldn't be more grateful. Well, one of my favourites.
"We were gonna get Maccies but I didn't know if you have any rules against that?" I laugh.
"Why would I?" I know some dancers do, but one fast food meal once in a while won't hurt me.
"That's the last time I'm watching dance academy then!" Joe laughs. I used to love that show. Sure, it was ballet, but it was Australian and it was dance. I always wanted to be on that show.
"Thank you." I say as I take the food, gratefully.
"We're gonna go home real quick and then I'll drop you off at 9." Zoe tells me. I agree, already knowing that my parents won't mind."Just do you know, Dianne, I think it's amazing that you're getting my brother to dance." Zoe tells me after I spend the night with her. We're in her car, driving to my house.
"Anything he'll do." I joke.
"He must seriously like you. I don't think I've ever seen Joe take dance seriously." I smile, blushing at the prospect. I know it can never happen, but a girl can dream.
"What did he even do that's that bad?" I fill her in, explaining almost everything. Even the details she does know.
"He's like your best friend. And he's my brother. I know him, but you seem to know him better. How's that possible?" I don't know if Zoe's simply debating it herself, or asking myself for an answer but either way, I don't know it.
"I can't wait to start jiving with him." I state as we reach our destination. The truth is, I've always wanted Joe to dance with me but he never would. Not until he upset me and wants to make up for it. Maybe he does care.A/N: So basically the first three chapters are up and ready. New Year's Eve will completely have all the fanfiction uploaded but this is like a sneak peek.
Anyway I hope you liked it xx
