Joe's POV:
I know I need to be honest and I'm finally ready to face the facts.
"Di, I miss you." I fall into her shoulder and feel her flinch.
"Joe..." she starts but I'm not willing to mess this up.
"No, I'm sorry. I can't let you leave me. I know I made a mistake with Connie and I know it's harder than just learning dances to regain your trust but I would absolutely love it if we could start again. Please let me show you that I do love you and I won't mess up again at all." Dianne smiles, I can sense it.
"Not just yet. We're friends Joe. But I'm still holding you to your promise. You said you'd learn three dances in both styles and once you do, then you'll have my heart again. You can take me out as a celebration. Think of me as your reward." She's being so sweet and I've no idea how I got so lucky to meet this girl.
"Dance class tomorrow then Joe?" She questions and I nod eagerly, waiting to learn another dance.
I just want to prove to my family and my friends-Dianne especially- that I can do this.
"Joe we're gonna be late!" Dianne laughs as we head to the studio. We took a detour to get food and it clearly didn't work in our favour.
"Okay I'll race you then." I suggest and she begins running straight away. I lose by a lot. Who knew Dianne was so good at running?
"Okay so here he is!" She giggles to her class, probably after dissing my time-keeping.
"Sorry I'm late Miss." I tease her. She says she forgives me and begins teaching the jive.
We finish up and I'm ready to go home.
"No, we have the studio booked for another hour. Chloe and Aj are coming to help us learn a jive so that's a third of your promise to me." She's being so sweet but I hate the fact that Aj is coming. I don't have a problem with him. I just think he has a problem with me.
Aj enters alone.
"What? Where's Chloe?" Dianne asks, suddenly frightened.
"She's been sick. Can't come. So I'm gonna teach you and Joe by myself if that's alright." She nods.
"Yeah, Yeah. You can watch for now, I've got a routine planned." That part I didn't know.
"Okay so you have the basics down and now it's all about using the energy into the routine." I smile, hoping to use my enthusiasm as a good sign.
We finish up learning and it's fair to say she's impressed with how quickly I picked up most of the routine.
"Wow Joe. Way to prove me wrong. Thanks Aj for coming but I don't know if we'll be needing you. Let Chloe know for me?" He raises his eyebrows, playfully before nodding in agreement. Maybe Aj isn't so bad.
"Thanks mate, see you round." I bro-hug him and I know Dianne is shocked but I would do anything for this girl. Even being friends with her potential ex.
"You've been doing alright Joseph. But I still need to see three dances. I'm really glad we're properly friends again now though." That's enough to determine me more than ever. Dianne deserves the world and I'm going to give it to her.
