I’m a bit shocked on how I slept so well last night after all that mind changing information Natsia had given all of us. Then again, I wonder how the others did as well…
It was Saturday morning. My alarm didn’t have to rudely interrupt my beauty sleep, and I didn’t have to worry about being anywhere necessarily important. Even so, I had nothing to do, so I was stumped about my day plans.
If I’m a Guardian, shouldn’t I be patrolling the mountain area? Or do we even have to do that? Well, since it’s a lazy kind of day, it might be Logan’s perfect opportunity, so…. Agh, I have no idea.
I didn’t really feel like calling anybody over to hang out, since I was still taking my whole alter-ego thing in. I guess if I was that desperate I could wake up Nat, but I’ll bug her later.
I hopped downstairs and practically inhaled a bowl of cereal. After that, I decided fresh air would probably be the best way to wake up, so I grabbed my cell phone in case anyone else woke up and wondered where I was so they could contact me, shoved my shoes on weakly and shuffled out of the house.
But where should I go? There wasn’t anywhere necessarily special around here, and it’d be boring if I just went off to the mountain again. Geez, I need a breather from that place.
The morning sun was surprisingly hot. I thought my best bet was to cool down, so I strolled off to the mountain outback forest praying that an ATV doesn’t run me over as I enter. Bikers, four-wheelers, and even hunters during hunting season enjoyed occupying this forest since it was almost remote and no one usually comes around here anyways, so they usually scored big with its natural attractions.
I pushed past a branch which was blocking my face, and stepped lightly onto the path. I looked up and around through the various trees that canopied the forest, tiny specks of sunlight peeking through the leaves every now and then. The only sounds I could hear were he light humming sounds of cicadas in the sun or the occasional bird call from time to time. Good, it should hopefully be a peaceful stroll.
Well since I’m all by myself, can’t I bring out Natsia? She’ll most likely kill me, but…
I imagined Natsia getting dragged out of a bed in pyjamas, and out she came.
“Aha. Nice try on the pyjama department. Don’t push it, honey.” She joked with a dash of sarcasm.
I giggled. “It was worth a shot, right?”
She rolled her eyes and smiled. “Heh, I guess so.”
Nat was still in her usual outfit, her freckles on her cheeks brought out by the look of raging flames that was her hair. Her big red bow bounced up and down as she walked. Her blue pants and green tank were perfectly pleated, and her purple jewelled necklace gleamed when the spots of sunlight reflected against it. Her grey eyes shone brightly, despite my rude awakening. But I guess being a spirit doesn’t necessarily mean you get a variety of wardrobe.
A brief idea came to my head. “Say, uh, Nat. Can I transform on the spot? Do I have to say some sort of words to activate the transformation like a magical girl manga/anime character? I did my own little movements to show her what I meant, but I’m pretty sure this spirit wasn’t an otaku like me.
She laughed. “Yes, you can transform on the spot, however you want, whenever you want, but you don’t need the cheesy magical girl thing to tag along with it.” She caught her breath, and laughed a bit more. “It’s activated by your thoughts. Just transform when you want, but you have to believe in your intuitivism; you have to believe in your Ribbon.”
I slid my hands down to my side as I realized I may have held the gestures a tad bit too long. Well, that was slightly embarrassing. But at least I got it out of the way because it felt pretty epic while it lasted.
