Kitakami could not believe who she was about to fight but it was pretty obvious when she thought about it. Her final objective in this war as a mercenary was to stop her sister, Ooi. Her former buddy now turned enemy had joined up with the Pan Asian Union and she is the only one left in Kitakami's path. There was no better matchup than this as the two were equal to each other. Belfast's scout plane was still in the air relaying information for Kitakami with the assistance of Tan Yang radioing in for guidance.
"Confirmed reactivation of V-25 base! Kitakami, continue your mission. Engage." Tan Yang ordered. "Stand by. We're analyzing the situation."
"Here comes the rain." Ooi said as the storm rolled over them.
"Why? Why are you doing this Ooi?" Kitakami tried to reason with her sister.
Ooi simply fired her supercavitating torpedoes at Kitakami, but she was lucky to evade them. They were faster than anything she had ever seen.
"Sink the enemy. I'll run an analysis on her equipment and fill you in ASAP!" Tan Yang promised.
"Those who survive long on the battlefield start to think they're invincible. I bet you do, too, buddy." Ooi mentioned.
"Ooi, just please stop. I don't want to do this to you." Kitakami pleaded. The two traded torpedo salvos on each other and were all misses. The supercavitating torpedoes are giving Kitakami serious trouble. Both cruisers maneuvered like crazy and turned in ways many thought were not possible. It was a battle of epic proportions and the two danced it out with some epic battle music playing in the background. Eventually, a torpedo from Kitakami found its mark and hit Ooi. The blast damaged the tubes holding the special torpedoes but Ooi remained with an undamaged hull. Was Kitakami seeing this right? Do her torpedoes which she relied on so much not work on her sister?
"It's pretty ironic, buddy. A couple of dogs like us fightin' the last battle." Ooi mentioned again.
"Phase 1 complete. Transmission from enemy ship detected. She's controlling the V-25 launch!" Tan Yang urgently reported.
What will Kitakami do now if Ooi launches the drone ship?
"Can you see the borders from here? What has borders given us?" Ooi asked the big question in the heat of battle.
"What the hell does that even mean? Please Ooi, just stop it. We need to talk this one out and not kill each other!" Kitakami continued to beg.
"There's no mercy in war. People live and people die. That's all there is to it."
However, with the tubes damaged, Ooi was forced to fire shells. The shells she fired were no ordinary shells as Kitakami was about to learn. One such shell strayed past Kitakami and detonated mid air just behind her. The blast was so powerful and she could feel the shockwaves hit her. It looked like a Type 3 but it wasn't. It was a multi purpose burst shell that the Yamato Space Program had developed and was now stolen by the PAU along with the supercavitating torpedoes.
"Whoa, what the hell was that!?" Kitakami reacted to the bursts.
"We're going to start over from scratch. That's what V-25 is for." Ooi tried her way of reasoning.
"You better stop this right now. I don't want to see any more people dying on me." Kitakami then exchanged some shots and had a few hits on Ooi with gunfire while avoiding the burst shells.
"You feel fired up? Come sink me now!" Ooi taunted.
Kitakami finally hit her enough times and Ooi gave up on firing the burst shells. Now would become the third stage of the battle. Ooi still had another trick up her sleeve and this time Kitakami should better deal with her before it's too late.
