Naruto x Sasuke: Forbidden love?

Part 23

I woke up to Sasuke, lightly snoring next to me. I checked the time. 4:32am. It was too early, but i had to use the bathroom.

I got up and walked towards the kitchen, feeling hungry. Kurama was curled into a ball on the couch, sleeping soundly.

The bathroom light was harsh. I did my business and washed my hands. Looking at my reflection sent a chill throughout my entire body. I was covered in bruises. I had at least a dozen on my neck. And dozens more all over my body. I ran my fingers over the one on my wrists, remembering how Sasuke had held them back.

I should tell Kurama to heal them in the morning. But they brought good memories to mind, so i decided against it.

I made my way back into bed, Sasuke no different than how i left him. If this made him tired, I can't imagine how it'll be when things get serious between us.

I awoke again to the sun in my eyes.

Only Sasuke wasn't in bed this time. I heard a clanking in the kitchen.

Was he making breakfast again?

After throwing on some sweats and a sweater, I walk to the kitchen.

It isn't Sasuke on the stove, but Kurama, back into his human form. "Good morning, kit," He greets and goes back to flipping an omelette.

"Good morning," I yawn, looking around for Sasuke.

"He said he had to go run some errands, that he'd call you later." I nodded, a bit disappointed. What errands? I sat, noticing how much my body ached. I wasn't used to this feeling, since Kurama always healed me.

"You two seemed to have fun last night," Kurama said, pointing at my exposed neck. I felt a blush creep into my face. "So what if we did?" I stick my nose in the air, brushing off the humiliation i was feeling.

"Now that you've settled back into your life here, it might be time to consider joining a job." Grandma Tsunade had summoned me, and I have never been more excited.

"You can help in missions. Join the medical unit. You have experience in almost every position."

"Grandma, I actually already have something in mind."

This seemed to take Grandma completely off guard. She straightened up and crossed her hands, "And what would that be?"

"I want to join the Anbu."
