Your POV

"So, you went to the movies. How did it go?"

"Perfect! It went perfect!"

"So, you guys had a date yesterday."

"No! We had a friendly date and it went pretty well!"

"Oh please, don't tell me you had an amazing time with him! Actually, don't tell me that you like him!"

"Well, I like him but not in that romantic way. He's just an interesting guy."

"He's an idiot."

"Stop saying that! You don't know him!"

"Neither you!"

"Gracie, the only thing he needs is someone to love him!"

"That's why families exist."

"Gracie, we all get love from our parents but getting love from a foreign person makes us feel special."

"And what makes you believe that?"

"He told me there's a quote that says 'Don't marry rich guys'. He got a lil bit emotional when he mentioned it. He looked at me and he told me that this quote is real, like that quote comes true. Plus, we watched that movie with that rich guy who dies in the end and he said he feels him and he's like him."

"I've watched that movie. You shouldn't have watched it!"

"I know and I regret it but for real. Matt has feelings, but he doesn't show them to us."

"I don't believe you!"

"You have to! Actually, it's okay. Don't believe me! I don't care!"

I close my locker and I turn around heading to the staircase. I meet Matt as I arrive at the staircase. He's sitting alone reading another book.

"Good morning Mister Matthew!"

"Morning Miss Y/n."

"How are you today?"

"I'm the same as yesterday."

"Good?"

"Nostalgic."

"You haven't told me the reason you're feeling like that."

"Missy, you don't have to know everything about me!"

"But friends share their problems with each other!"

"Friends? You mean two people with common stuff, right?"

"Yes. Aren't we friends?"

"We don't have any common stuff."

"True, but still! We are friends!"

"What makes you think we're friends?"

"The fact that we spend so much time together! I mean, we've been working together for weeks and I still don't know you personally. I want to learn more stuff about you!"

"And you think that 'friendship' is the right thing to do to get to know someone?"

"Yes"

"Well, listen Miss Y/n. I'm Matthew David Morris and I don't make friends, because I'm rich. I don't need anyone in my life, did you get it?"

"I'm just trying to he--"

"You're not helping Miss! You're not. Now, leave me alone!"

"But Matt, you're a really kind and gentle person! Why don't you give it a chance and change to the best?"

"If I change, I will get hu... I DON'T WANT TO CHANGE!"

"YOU MUST CHANGE OR YOU'LL BE ALONE FOREVER!"

"So you're saying you'll leave me one day, right?"

"Why do you even care now? You want me to leave!"

"You're exact like the others! YOU'RE PATHETIC!"

"WELL, AT LEAST I HAVE FRIENDS AND I'M NOT ALONE IN THIS WORLD!"

Oh snap! I shouldn't have said that!

He lows his head and closes his book, putting it in his backpack. He grabs it and places it on his back. He gets up.

"That's our difference! I'm all alone and you have your little friends who make fun of me behind my back."

"Matt, I'm --"

"SHUT UP!"

He yells so loud that the whole hallway goes silent. I look at him with fear in my eyes.

"You cannot feel me. You cannot be me. NO ONE CAN FEEL ME OR BE ME FOR AT LEAST A SECOND! You're exactly like the others! You think that being rich is the best thing that can happen to anyone, but no! LISTEN UP YOU STUPID ASSHOLES! THE BEST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN TO SOMEONE IS FINDING TRUE LOVE! SOMETHING THAT NO ONE HAS DONE IT BEFORE!"

I'm speechless as I listen to his words. That's what happened to him years ago. He's heartbroken.

"DO YOU KNOW WHY? BECAUSE EVERY DAMN GIRL IN HERE IS A SLUT AND EVERY DAMN GUY IS A FUCKBOY. IT'S MY TURN TO THROW SHADES ON YOU NOW! Now, about you Miss Y/n, I knew I couldn't trust you! I knew I couldn't be 'friends' with you and open my heart to you."

"If you could open your heart and tell me about your past and your interests, we would be good."

I quickly cover my mouth regretting everything I said.

Here comes the storm!

"If your problem is me, then stay away from me! Yes, I'm rich! Yes, I'm selfish! AND YES, I CAN'T FALL IN LOVE! I CAN'T BE TRUSTED! YES, I CAN'T GET MARRIED AND CREATE A FAMILY BECAUSE I'M RICH!"

He looks down and then back at me. His eyes are red. He closes them as he lows his head again. I really want to hug him and tell him to cry on my shoulder.

He opens his eyes still looking down.

"I'm leaving. Don't follow me, please!"

"Okay."

"Good. Goodbye miss Y/n. Be careful!"

He says with a calmer voice. That voice actually gave me chills! Dang! I can listen to him talking with that voice all the time!

"Goodbye Mister Morris!"

He walks past me and his figure gets lost as he walks in the crowd. Gracie comes next to me and places her hand on my shoulder.

"You owe me my money!"

"Here. 100 dollars. I'll bye you a cheesecake later."

"A strawberry cheesecake please!"

"Alright. Let's go to our lesson."
