Another Monday.. peachy.

I got up looking out my sheer baby pink curtains seeing snow falling from the sky. Immediately a smile was put on my face seeing the beautiful snow coating everything in its way.

I winced from the chills running through my feet when I transitioned from my carpet to my hardwood floors. I quickly tiptoed to my bathroom jumping on the counter to relieve my feet from freezing off.

After a shower I put on my outfit which consisted of.. ripped light blue jeans, with a knitted white crop top, a gray wool cardigan, and my black vans. I put my hair in a curly pointy tail and a black silk bow.

"Liv! We gotta go early!" Max yelled from downstairs. I quickly grabbed a new book The Book Thief, my backpack, and headed downstairs.

"A crop top?" Nick asked scolding me. I raised my arms. "No belly button is shown." I said smiling. He squinted his eyes. "Fine. Liv your jeans are a little tight don't you think?" Nick said. I pouted. "Lay off Nick.. she looks nice." Max said. I smiled. "Thanks Maxy." I said.

We got into Nicks car and headed to school. "So why do we have to go early?" I asked. They didn't answer. Nick gave me a few glances through the rear view mirror, but turned when we made eye contact.

"Guys?" I asked. Max sighed. "Do you wanna tell her.. or should I?" Max asked. Nick waved him off. "Liv there's a rumble today.." Nick said trailing off. My eyes widened. "You two aren't participating.. right?" I asked quietly.

"Liv this is what we do. The socs hate the greasers and the greasers hate the socs." Nick said like it was a normal thing. I shook my head and tears welled up in my eyes. I put my head down not wanting to talk about it anymore.

"Bubba please don't cry.." Nick said. "Liv we won't get hurt." Max said turned around rubbing my knee in a brotherly way. I sniffled and opened the first page of my book ignoring them.

I don't know why they feel the need to go to the rumbles every year. They just beat each other up then I'm stuck cleaning wounds and icing bruises. I hate seeing them get hurt.

My eyes tracked along the paper of the book that I have yet to read. Reading a new book is like trying a new food.. I don't know what it will be like, but I'm excited.

The car came to a stop so I grabbed my bag getting out of the car. "Liv Wait!" Max yelled from the car. I kept my eyes on my book heading inside. "Liv.. please don't be angry with us." Max said now walking on my right. I looked at him then Nick on my left. "I don't want you t-to get h-hurt." I said.

I kept walking until I reached the library and guess who was standing by the door. "Hey cupcake.. what's the matter?" Lee asked. I shrugged. "Max and Lee are doing the rumble again.."I said quietly. He nodded not making eye contact with me. "Are you doing the rumble t-too?" I asked. He bit his lip.

"You guys know how I f-feel about fighting." I said in a whisper. He didn't answer. I stepped away from him heading in the library. "Liv.." He said trailing off. "Don't. I hate seeing you g-guys get hurt, but all that matters is the s-stupid rumble right?" I asked just above a whisper then walked into the library.

"Together, they would watch everything that was so carefully planned collapse, and they would smile at the beauty of destruction.."

I read this over and over. Not everything broken needs to be fixed.. maybe just looked at in a different perspective. I got out my English notebook jotting down some more things to put in my essay.
