Sola sighed as she walked out of the back of the bar, placing the trash in the bin. The sun was down, and the skies had decided to open up and start pouring. She inhaled the scent of rain, stretching her sore neck.

For some reason, she had always felt connected to the Earth. She could usually tell when a storm was coming or when there was going to be a temperature change. She could feel it in her core.

"What the fuck was that, Sola?"

The girl turned around to see her friend and current coworker, Jimin. He threw his trash away as well, holding his hand up and bending the water away from him so he could stay dry. He joined her and stood in the overhang.

"What do you mean?" Sola asked, looking down and kicking a rock with her foot.

"You know what I mean, don't play dumb," Jimin insisted, scolding her like she was a child. In some ways, she was. Sola was a little oblivious to how the world worked, how cruel people could be. The more she traveled, the more she was learning, though. "You can't just pick a fight with the Fire Nation."

"I didn't pick a fight with the Fire Nation, Jimin," Sola rolled her eyes, crossing her arms across her chest. "Just the youngest son of the Fire Lord," she mumbled.

"As if that's any better," Jimin scoffed. "He knows your face now. Nowhere in the Fire Nation will be safe for us anymore. They'll want to hunt you down if you do something stupid."

"I'm not going to do anything stupid, Jimin," Sola insisted. "I'd never put you guys in danger like that. I know that if they hunt me, you won't be far behind. You don't deserve to be tortured just for being associated with me. This would just be better if I traveled alone."

"We aren't going to send you off on your own like that. We're friends, family. We're a team. We're in this together for better or worse," Jimin said softly, grabbing Sola's handing and giving it a reassuring squeeze. Sola turned to look at him and gave him a soft smile, thankful for Jimin and who he was as a person.

"Are you proposing to me right now, Jimin?"

"God, no. I can barely handle your high-maintenance ass as a friend," Jimin gagged, causing Sola to give him a light shove as she laughed at him. "Please be smart tonight. I know you'll be fine but just... be smart. You know what to do."

Sola nodded, glancing down the street and into the dark alleyway where she was supposed to meet the prince for a dual. "I told him I was a non-bender," she said distantly. Her head was not in her body next to Jimin. In was in the future, during the dual, wondering how the hell she was going to make it out not only alive but victorious.

"Well, you better run with that then. Or come up with a good excuse if you end up having to do something," Jimin warned and Sola nodded. "I'll be close. Out of sight, but close enough that I can run to the rescue if it resorts to that."

"Jimin, I'm not going to put you in danger like that," Sola insisted.

Jimin smiled, cupping Sola's face and giving her cheek a little pat, "You're not putting me in danger. How many times do I have to tell you this? Everything I've done up until this point, I've done because I wanted to. I don't have any regrets. Now, go get 'em, tiger."

Jimin gave Sola a pat on the back as he walked back into the bar, probably doing unneeded cleaning as an excuse to stay late so he could watch over her. Sola stood still under the overhang, looking up at the falling rain and taking a deep breath. All odds were against her in this. By all means, she was supposed to lose, but she's beaten impossible odds before.

As Sola stepped out, getting immediately soaked by the downpour, she started brainstorming strategies. She started channeling her brother who always knew what to do. He would be disappointed when she learned of her stupid actions, but she didn't want to disappoint him anymore by losing, or worse, dying in this dual.
