Region One

Many years ago a certain fan girl liked to many fandoms and war reigned inside her mind. Each fandom was competing to be the best... in order to keep the worlds at peace the fan girl decided to create The FANDOM Games... From each region two girls and two boys would go into an arena to battle... to the death, until one and one alone emerged victorious. The winner would bring honour to the fandom and would end up rather wealthy...

It was not uncommon for people in the first region to train for the FANDOM Games. As it was the richest region and this event was celebrated. As soon as one was ready he or she would volunteer to enter the games and if someone else volunteered for them and won, he or she had permission to kill the cheat for trying to steal the glory. Harry Potter had been training since his eleventh birthday. He knew he was ready but deep inside of him he did not want to volunteer. Du bled ore expected him to, the entire Order of the Phoenix did. He had single handedly killed Voldemort back in his first year at Hogwarts and he was rather athletic. Ron Weasley (Harry's best friend) always told him how great he was and that he wished he had his ability. But despite all of this, Harry did not want all the fortune and fame (he already had all of that) but more to the point, he knew he would most likely die. He never told anybody this but he could not see how turning children into killing machines promoted peace.

Hermione Granger (Harry's other close friend) was going to volunteer. She had studied long and hard and knew every survival technique off by heart. She had also read The FANDOM Games:A history so many times she knew every word from memory (and the book was at least a thousand pages thick)! Not only that but she had studied muggle style combat and was fluent in more than wand work.

Unbeknownst to Harry his rival Draco Malfoy had plans to steal the glory for himself. Lucius Malfoy (Draco's father) was a rich and influential man who was known to threaten to get his way. Although he had been in Askaban for quite  long time after been exposed as a Death Eater and he had been proven guilty to treason to the Ministry of Magic people still feared him and money was still a powerful wager for bribes.

"Lucius Malfoy," began Dumbledore (he had recently been elected Minister of Magic despite not even being a candidate), "you know full well Mr Potter was chosen to compete in the FANDOM Games along with Mr Weasley, so I do not see the purpose of trying to bribe me. I have no need for your riches."

"Dumbledore, with all due respect, we cannot deny that Draco is more than capable of winning the Games. The same cannot be said about Mr Potter. Do you really want to risk the death of the famous Harry Potter all because you want him to compete? He lacks the crucial killer instinct! You know just as well as I do Mr Potter could not murder ten year old children and more than likely there will be a few from other regions. Region four is full of younger contestants and I believe Mr Potter will bring disgrace to our region if we allow him to compete." Mr Malfoy finished and took a sip of tea and stared Dumbledore down, a feeble attempt to intimidate him.

"All that you have said is true but you know if young Mr Malfoy volunteers in place of Mr Potter and wins, Mr Potter will have to kill him."

"Dumbledore can you not tell Mr Potter that the Ministry has rechosen and that he wasn't the most fit and therefore did not make it into the Games?"

"I will do my best but young Harry is rather head strong and appears rather excited to represent the region. You have seen him on the Quidditch pitch, he is very competitive. But," he sighed, " if you insist on it being your son I will speak to Mr Potter myself."

"Thank you Minister. This is deeply appreciated."

Harry had no idea how strenuous throwing knives could be. He had done it so many times it surprised him how much he was struggling. I thought I was fitter than this? If I can barely throw a knife to pass gym practice how am I going to go when I am battling for my life. Of course Hermione had noticed Harry was not performing up to scratch (she made it her duty to keep track of her competition, even if they were going to team up, she knew eventually they would all turn on each other and she wanted to come out on top).

"Harry are you worried about something?" Hermione asked, genuinely concerned. "You are way off target today." She stated throwing her knife straight into the middle of the target.

"No, I am perfectly fine." He lied, usually he was good at lying but today it was far from believable.

"C'mon Harry, you can tell us" Ron interrupted. "I am worried too. They are picking tomorrow and I am afraid of someone volunteering in my place."

"But that's just it Ron!" Harry blurted in irritation, "I don't want to volunteer!"

"What?" Hermione and Ron yelled together, a little more loudly than they intended.

"I don't get why you wouldn't want to volunteer? Think about the glory!" Hermione lectured, she was about to continue when Harry interrupted her.

"I am more thinking about the fact I am likely to die. Twenty four enter, one returns? Doesn't sound like great odds to me!"

"Mate, we'll be there to protect you! We will work as a team and pick off the weaklings! Ginny will also be there to help and boy can she kill!" Ron mused at the power of his younger sister.

"You mean you guys will protect me until it gets to a point where I am a threat and then you kill me in my sleep!"

"We would never do that!" Hermione lied. That was exactly what she was going to do.

"Mr Potter!" Dumbledore called. The three were so busy arguing they hadn't noticed him enter the gym. He flicked his wrist to indicated for Harry to come.

"I'll come back soon." He promised.

"Take your time." Ron replied, "there's no rush. And if you do volunteer, remember I have your back."

"Thanks Ron."

Harry walked towards Dumbledore. He wore emerald green robes, half moon specticals and had a crooked nose. Dumbledore was enjoying some sherbet lemons and simply walked out expecting Harry to follow, as he did.

"Mr Potter this maybe a shock, but the Ministry has decided that you are not going to be our tribute." Harry looked dumbfounded. He was half greatful that he would not have to risk his life, but also half confused of who was taking his place.

"Professor- I mean Minister. I don't understand. Who is going to be the second male tribute then?"

"Mr Malfoy." Dumbledore stated.

Harry didn't know how to feel. On one hand he was glad Malfoy was going to get killed (as horrible as that sounded in his head) but on the other hand if Malfoy won he'd never let Harry forget it and if there was one thing Harry hated, it was losing, especially to Malfoy.

Thanks for reading tune in next chapter to find out about Region Two

I probably should explain why they are called 'regions' not districts, like in the original story. This is simply because there are only six Fandoms rather than twelve so there are two districts for each which is why they are called regions instead.

Once I announce the tributes feel free to comment on who you think will win because I haven't decided yet and it will be interesting to see what you guys think. But alas I haven't announced them yet so I better start writing! Happy FANDOM Games and may the odds be ever in your favour! Or at least in favour of who you want to win!
