I thought that I should tell you that this started off as something to do during my (rare) free time, but my friend said that I should definitely publish it.

WARNING:  I HAVE NOT FINISHED THE SERIES, SO SOME INFORMATION MAY BE INCORRECT!

He was sitting with his back against one of the support columns. He was studying a wine bottle with tears in his cornflower blue eyes. His dark hair was already a mess before he ran his hand through it, but now it was all over the place. Anyone else would see a man crying over an empty bottle of wine. I didn't. He was staring intently at the bottle, and I knew that he was searching and scanning for answers. So I saw my older brother broken over the disappearance of the love of his life. A beautiful dark haired girl with blue eyes, only a shade lighter than his own. He was hoping that she had left him a message in the bottle.

"Neal," I whispered.

He looked up in surprise.

"I'm here."

"She's not. I missed her by two days, Nat. Two days."

I was trying not to cry as I slid down the pillar beside him. Kate meant so much to me, but even more so to Neal. I had never seen him give his heart away so completely. He loved her, and then she was gone. I heard sirens outside as Neal started to panic.

"Go, Nat. I mean it. Go out the window and don't get caught," my brother croaked, his voice thick with tears.

I did what he asked with a glance over my shoulder. As I released my grip on the ledge, I saw an FBI agent handcuffing his hands behind his back.
