Welp, guess who's sick and bored?! I decided to go ahead and work on this, but I can't promise it'll be any good since I've never written Hanahaki before. For those of you don't know, or can't see the picture. Hanahaki is an illness from a one sided love. The person throws up flowers, and it can be cured by the love being returned. It can also be cured by surgery, but that takes away the person's feelings. So the trigger warnings are... BLOOD, THROWING UP, LOTS OF ANGST, BOYXBOY, AND SLIGHT LANGUAGE!  Also, anyone watch season 8? I'm thinking about writing a chapter about that, but this includes SPOILERS FOR SEASON 8! IF YOU NO WATCH THEN YOU PLEASE NO READ! Anyways, enjoy the chapter my loves! ~JC

Have you ever been in love, but you didn't even know? That's how I felt, and with this illness it's obvious I was, or am. I always thought I loved Allura, with her snow white hair, sky blue eyes, and amazing personality. I thought that by dating her I'd get over this illness, so why is it still here? Now she's gone, and I still have this stupid disease. I tried to think it was from losing her, but why were the petals red.
I always thought that they were covered in blood, but really pink underneath so I never thought anything of it. Until they kept coming up that is. So I decided to get one and clean it off just to reveal red?
No, this can't be right? The only person who's favorite color is red is Keith, but I don't love him, do I?
Now that I think about it I can't get him out of my head, his raven hair, his purple eyes that reminded me of galaxies, and his hot headness. (AN: I'm sorry but idk if that's even a word?) Shit, maybe I was in love with Keith.
The old paladins decided we should meet up again, this time I invited then to come to my farm. While I'd rather be off on adventures and stuff doing that just reminded me of being a paladin, which reminded me of her. Not to say these flowers didn't, but they were so beautiful. I decided that if I was going to remember I might as well remember the good parts.
I was attending to the fields when I felt the coil of the vines in my throat and the petals and blood fill my mouth. I ran to the small house and into the bathroom while hovering over the toilet. The blood and flowers stained white and clear water as they left my mouth.
I eventually felt the petals leave after 20 minutes of hell. I cleaned the toilet then quickly changed. By then I heard the soft rumble of cars and ran outside to see my whole team. All though it's only been a couple of years everyone has changed so much.
I saw Pidge who looked older and more mature, but was still the same kid that I saw as my sister. Next was Hunk who had barely changed, including his bubbly personality. Then there was Shiro, with his white hair and glasses looked a lot older, besides the muscles anyone would kill for. Next was Keith, Keith with his long hair now tied up into a ponytail and the same smirk ever present.
I haven't changed much in a couple of years, other than the Altean marks. Where they came from, we still don't know. I ran over to the others giving everyone a hug, even Keith who had lightened up some. I could feel the petals start to crawl up but pushed them down as I smiled at my old team.
"Hey guys! It's great to see you all! Come on, let me show you around!" I didn't give them a chance to reply as I started to walk towards our fields. I grew up on a farm back in Cuba so all of this was second nature to me. We not only had Juniberries (AN: Spelling?) but other fruits and vegetables. My family lived here with me along with some kids who didn't have their own families.
After showing everyone around and having some fun I led them to a small table on top of a hill under a tree where we could see the sunset perfectly. When it got dark these fairy lights lit up to give us light. The meal was made by my mama, my abuela, and me. It was a traditional dinner from Cuba and the team loved it, especially Hunk who asked for the recipe.
When our tummies are stuffed and everyone tired I lead them back to the house where everyone would be sleeping. We had many on the farm, this was the one I owned, all by myself. I showed everyone to their rooms, Keith last.
As I was about to walk off he grabbed my arm and pulled me back. I gave him a fake smile while feeling the vine start to clamp my throat.
"Hey Lance, thanks for everything. Not just today, but everything in the past. It means a lot to me, and I'm glad you were my teammate." I could taste the copper and fell the petals but forced them down yet again.
"It's no problem buddy, same goes for you." I tried to pull away but his grip tightened as the petals pushed forward and his eyes remained on me.
I kept trying but I was no use, and soon enough I was doubled over with blood and petals falling to the floor. Keith held me up luckily, and when I finished he carefully wiped blood off my face.
"Lance," He said carefully as he touched my cheek. "W-who do you have feelings for?"
I looked away from him tears falling down my face as I slowly answered. "Y-you, but there's no way you like me back." I tried to pull away again.
Suddenly I felt Keith's hand on my chin and a pair of lips on mine. The feeling was amazing! I could feel the vine shrivel up and quickly pulled away to cough up a small seed.
I smiled at Keith then threw it to the ground as I wrapped my arms around his neck, him doing the same to my waist, as I stood on my tip toes to kiss him again. He was slightly taller than me now, but I still loved him, and I'm glad he loved me.
Finally with the Hanahaki gone I was able to live my life with Keith. He eventually left the life of space and settled down on the farm with me where we got married. We continued to live there and take in kids who had no one. I was finally happy, and although I did have feelings for Allura I realize Keith was the one for me all along.
