Once upon a time,
you broke us down,
we simply crumbled to the ground.
Without a fight,
we simply let go,
of the only things we've ever known.
Our bones are broken,
as well as our minds,
missing a piece they hid and we may never find.
But our bones will heal,
as will our psyches,
bearing scars few will see.
And like our bones,
our minds will heal stronger than ever,
But we stand even stronger together
