Your POV
...
After we arrived at our new home, I unpacked all of Mellissa's stuff, mostly clothes, and then set to cleaning up all the dust.
Forensic list:
-A ded rat
-Cockroaches
-A nest of wasps
-Said wasps, all ded
After binning all the corpses(the roaches were sprayed), I went to bath with Mellissa in the bathroom that I had dutifully scrubbed. The bathroom smelled of bleach(watered down and used for cleaning), lemon, lavender, conditioner and baby head-to-toe soap after we were done. I towelled Melly down. I started musing about how easy it was to take care of her. She didn't cry a lot, just went around and found me, and then, with a mix of simple gestures and phrases, explained what was wrong and waited for me to solve it. The closest thing to cry she had done was when I was being cornered by Ethan. She had whimpered and beat her pudgy fists together. She wasn't like most babies, I had realised when I had enrolled her in French kindergarten. She had started speaking French almost immediately. Her first word? Amour.
All the teachers where astonished. I eventually came to the conclusion that she was a polyglot after she started speaking Chinese and Spanish. First words?
Chinese: Motive
Spanish: Venganza
I mulled over the early memories. Before I was a killer. Before all... this. It suddenly occured to me that my mother, having escaped, would've reported me. But on the other hand... I grinned as I pulled out my phone and accessed the GPS app. A trail of red dots led to a station 9 and a half klicks away from my new house, and then to a house 2 klicks more away. There were more little trails, but I didn't pay any attention to those. My eyes were locked onto a beeping red dot, smack-dab on the figure of the house.
As I walked around the little garden, I started uprooting all the weeds and throwing them to one side. Then, I got out the seed packets out, after digging out the garden to loosen the soil. 'Melly! Planting time!' I shook the seed packets of blue bells, begonias, yellow and white carnations, daisies and ferns. 'Humility, beware, innocence, rejection, purity and shelter. This is all for you, Mellissa. Don't be tricked by love in the future like me, Melly. And, here, this is for you. A bouquet white heather and holly. Protection and domestic happiness...' you whispered the last part forlornly as you pressed it into her hands. 'And, never forget, your mommy is always here for you. No matter what.' You smiled at her. 'Now... let's go and PLANT THOSE FLOWERS! GO, GO, GO!!!'
Little did little Melly know... There was one more flower in there...
Iris. Your friendship means so much to me, faith, hope, wisdom, valour, my compliments.
And in the house were more- Orange Mock, Lily-of-the-valley, Orange Blossom, Oleander, moss and Petunia arranged in a little china bowl, filled with water.
All the floriography meanings all jumbled together to make one sentence or meaning:
You've made my life complete, love has deceived me, you're innocent... But be cautious, My maternal love is never ending but you'll soon get tired of it, your presence soothes me... but you'll go soon... and misery will claim my soul, driving me to despair...
