I hurried to the kitchen to grab a water bottle or a five hour energy. The door bell keep ringing and my brother Monroe came down. We met in the hallway by the door.
"Is the Vietnamese mafia after you or something." Monroe joked.
"It is actually the Australian mafia." I sighed.
"You can't ignore him like the people that try to sell you stuff." Monroe explained.
"I will and I can." I said.
"It's just a door Moira." Monroe
"You get the door." I said.
"No you." Monroe
"No you!" I yelled
"No you!" Monroe yelled
"No you!" I yelled back.
"I can hear you both! Can you please open the door!" A voice behind the door yelled.
"I'm letting him in. You got too many problems." Monroe said walking closer to the door.
"You always bluff, little bro!" I yelled at him as I walked into the kitchen. I needed to drink more water. (Stay hydrated bby) I opened the cabinet to grab a cup. Then I heard the door opening and my heart stopped.
"You fuck." I cursed under my breath.
I looked at the back door as a viable option. Or just sneaking upstairs and hiding in my room. I can't do confrontation. Why did I have to be gutsy today? No one prepared me for this. I have to stop thinking or I am going to get caught. Just my luck, Calum and I make eye contact as I am trying to open the back door.
"Calum, hi you thirsty, want something to drink?" I asked laugh awkwardly picking up my cup from before.
The silence grows between us and I began to get that water I wanted before. If he is not going to talk I am going to hydrate. I began to watch the bowl of fruit when he started to talk. I took a long sip.
"I don't like you in the same way." Calum said and I spit out my water.
"Thanks for coming over, let me show you out." I said pushing him outside.
"Moira, I am really sorry." Calum said with sorrowful eyes.
"Calum, just get out. You could have texted me instead of coming over here." I said continuing to push him out.
"You like Shawn remember?" Calum asked.
"I friend zoned him because of your lame ass." I said about to slam the door in his face.
My vision got blurry and I was standing in my kitchen again, looking at an apple.
"Moira!" Calum yelled.
"What!" I yelled back, snapping back into reality.
"You just stood there looking at the same fruit bowl for a minute. Are you okay?" He asked.
"Just tell me you do not like me. So you can get out of my house and I can go eat a pizza with Blaine." I said.
" I've known you forever Moira." Calum has said before I interrupted him.
"Yeah, I know where this leads us. I'm friend zoned." I sighed waking closer to him.
"Gosh, If you really wanna make this work your gonna stop interrupting me." Calum said.
"Listen here Hood, I am a hormonal teenage girl who is going through a emotional battle right now. You do not tell me what to fucking do!" I yelled at him.
"Okay Moira. I'm just gonna say it, to put it into your terms. I have romantic feelings for you too." Calum says bluntly looking into my eyes.
My mouth dropped open in shock. I know Calum is finding this very amusing. He is laughing at my shocked face. I just stare at him frozen in this state.
"I'm sorry can you repeat what you just said one more time." I asked.
"I want you to be my girlfriend Moira. No more guessing games." Calum says.
"No." All I mange to say.
"No?" He asked.
"No, fucking way." I said speechless.
"Yes, fucking way." He said then laughed.
"This is a lot to taken in." I said not knowing what to do.
I just stand in front of him unsure. I look him in the eyes again, but this time I was ready for this staring contest. I wanted to say something but I could not. It was really embarrassing of me, full honesty. Damn him and his good looks.
"Is everything okay in here?" My mom asked coming into the room.
"Yeah, I was walking Calum out. Thanks for coming over" I said grabbing his hand and dragging him to the porch.
Once we were out in the clearing. I began the conversation again.
"Did not know you got the love bug Calum." I said breaking the ice.
"Oh please you've been in love with me since when we first met." He retorted.
"Guiltily as charged but before we push our relationship to boyfriend and girlfriend level... I want you take me on a couple of dates. Test out the waters." I explained.
"Anything you want." He said then went in for a hug.
"Alright get out of here, your mom will start to worry." I said returning the hug.
We just stood there for awhile, because I was tired and wanted something to lean on. Being emotionally drained is the worst I told myself.
"I should go." He whispered.
"Yeah." I agreed but did not let go of him.
"Moira, you'll see me tomorrow." He said then laughed.
"Yeah, but that just school." I replied.
We stood there for another minute and then we heard a window opening. I could feel Calum straightening up. So I looked up. I saw my brother Monroe looking down at us.
"Moira, stop being clingy and get inside!" Monroe yelled.
I looked at him and glared. I was so going to get my revenge. I mean normally Monroe and I are on good terms, but his teenage years really took a toll on him. He acts way more bratty if I am being honest.
"I'm going in." I yelled back.
I looked at Calum again and let him go.
"Bye." I said to him smiling like an idiot.
"Bye." Calum smiled back.
