________

Bruce felt like everything had gone out of proportion in point five seconds, and to be honest he wouldn't be surprised if it was raining cats and dogs. He made his way towards the GCPD building with a confused expression on his face, after being knocked unconscious by Jeremiah when he found out that the quiet and quirky man he thought he knew was more similar to his brother than just looks. More importantly he was concerned for Jim Gordon, hearing that he was likely dead because of the bombs that Wayne Industries had funded for Jeremiah to build. Bombs that Bruce funded and helped build. Even if he wasn't aware that the once called "generators" were actually bombs, he still felt guilty for not realizing before it was too late. Guilty for putting innocent people's lives in danger for his own mistake of not noticing sooner.

Once Bruce made his way to the front doors of the GCPD, he quickly flung them open. Not taking the time to realize what state the previously clean and tidy building was once in, it had been completely destroyed. Maybe that's an exaggeration, but to Bruce it seemed as like it was the truth. Papers and documents littered the floors, framed awards had either fallen off the walls or were out of order, and were hung in a disorderly manner that didn't match the original state of the building before. Something had happened that he didn't know about. Bruce didn't know if it was good, he wasn't here for what happened, or was he guilty that he wasn't there to help. As soon as Bruce was far enough into the building to see most if not all of the people in the building all contained in the large and open room known as the main room of the GCPD.

He looked around the room for someone that he recognized, someone he could trust. Almost immediately, he spotted Harvey having an argument with the mayor. He didn't say anything at first, not wanting to disrupt the conversation between the two men. The detective turned around and said,

"Harper, please, will you help the mayor?"

Towards one of the others in the room. Signaling that the conversation between the two was over. The woman named Harper replied,

"You got it."

Then the mayor walked over to her.

After making sure the mayor wouldn't disagree with him again, Harvey turned around only to be greeted by Bruce Wayne himself

"Holy mother of God. Bruce Wayne."

He quickly strode over to Bruce, running down the stairs to make sure the boy was okay, and to also see if he had any useful information about the current situation.

"Hey! Bruce, are you okay?"

Bruce looked over at Harvey with the same confused and concerned expression as before

"I'm fine. I heard about Jim."

Hesitating and leaving a second of silence between the two before finishing his sentence,

"Is it true?"

Before Harvey could reply he noticed that Bruce's voice was somewhat shaky and somewhat hoarse. Harvey didn't want to make Bruce feel worse than he already felt, so he decided he would try to calm him down.

"As far as I'm concerned, Jim Gordon is alive, kicking, and waiting for us to find him."

Almost cutting him off Bruce replied with a direct and firm voice, barely being able to sense the shaky voice from before.

"Detective, don't lie to me."

Harvey was reminded that Bruce wasn't the same twelve year old as before. He was eighteen now and knew as well as everyone else how the world works. After a moment of silence, the detective debated on whether he should still try to keep his hopes up or if he should be honest with Bruce knowing how old Bruce was, what he'd been through, and seen. He decided on being honest with him.
