Have you ever had an epiphany on how dumb you actually were?

You sighed for the nth time that evening. You had your arm propped up on your room desk for support, chin resting on the palm of your hand. You scrolled through your phone gallery with your other hand. Through the photos you had taken together with Daniel for the past three weeks.

There was one he took of you when you weren't aware. You had been eating at one of his recommended french-themed restaurants. In the photo you were picking at your food; your fish and chips to be specific. And you had some tomato sauce in the corner of your lip that he wouldn't stop laughing at for 5 minutes.

In another photo, you were standing in the middle of Mickey and Minnie cosplayers who were part of a mini parade the two of you passed by on one of your little dates. The photo after that was taken by you; it was Daniel with a Star Wars Stormtrooper.

Scrolling again, you came across a photo of you and Daniel standing in front of the Han River. There were fireworks that night and they were visible in the background of the photo. Daniel was staring at you like you were the most important thing in the world to him, and you had that huge smile on your face. Anyone could tell by this photo that you were both happy.

You then scrolled to the next photo. Two hands intertwined, fingers crossed. It almost made your heart jump.

When you had asked Daniel why he was taking you out so often, he said that he knew you wanted to take things slowly so he was trying to go along with your pace. When you told him that you and Jihoon weren't really on speaking terms anymore, he'd given you an understanding smile that you couldn't really read properly.

You had given Daniel a chance, and he was just as you expected. He was sweet, and he made you feel warm and comfortable. He was protective, he knew you inside and out like the back of his own hand.

But there was one thing he didn't know.

That no matter what he did, no matter how hard you tried to forget, Jihoon still had a little home planted deep inside your heart.

A tear slipped down your cheek and you wiped it away immediately. There was no reason to be sad anymore, right?

You closed your eyes and allowed the feeling of emptiness to swallow you whole.

There was a heavy feeling in Jihoon's chest. Everytime he'd return home from a tiring day of work, he'd see his parents there. Comforting each other. Making all sorts of plans for the future even if they'd ditch it the next day for a new one. They were getting short on money even though he'd been working for three weeks.

Thankfully, his parents did save a little money before. But they were adamant on not spending it until they had a stable plan.

Jihoon wished he could help. Wished he could've done something more. He was earning enough to buy them food, but eventually his pay won't be enough. They'd still have other bills to settle.
