This is damn near the most perfect one shot idea I think I've ever had. Takes place before the kids were born, but after Quigley and Fiona's wedding. Begin!

~Normal POV

Klaus and Isadora were sitting on the couch in their living room watching their favorite musical called Hello, Dolly. Despite being a book lover, Klaus actually liked musicals quite a lot, and he was very happy when he discovered that he and his wife shared the same favorite. Currently the movie's title song was playing and it was quite a long song. But right now, Klaus was thinking of an idea. It was a silly idea, sure, but not one that he was opposed to. He and Isadora both knew that their favorite song in the film was coming up after this one in a few minutes, and he was quietly contemplating the idea of the two of them singing it together.

Isadora had a lovely singing voice; as a poet she rather liked singing because songs tend to have excellent poetic form. He had been told by her that his voice was pretty good too. Not that he would admit to singing along with musicals he liked; if Duncan and Quigley found out they'd tease the hell out of him. Isadora was currently lying in his arms as they watched the film and he gently nudged her to get her attention.

"Yes Klaus?"

He felt his face heat up a bit, he leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Do you want to sing Cornelius and Irene's duet together?"

Her jaw dropped open, "You would do that with me?"

He looked embarrassed, "Well I'd only do that with you. As long as you promise me the others won't find out. I don't think I could stand the teasing."

She giggled, "Of course! I'd love to do that. It'd be so romantic."

He smiled at her and they continued watching the movie until the scene they were talking about began. The song was called "It Only Takes a Moment," and it was a love song of two characters named Cornelius Hackl and Irene Malloy professing their love for each other. Isadora smiled at him as he started singing along to it. Thankfully, they both knew all the words by heart.

K: "It only takes a moment

For your eyes to meet and then

Your heart knows in a moment

You will never be alone again

I held her... for an instant

But my arms felt sure and strong

It only takes a moment

To be loved a whole life long"

The song then paused for a moment as the characters were talking but went right into Irene's part and Isadora happily sang along.

I: "He held me for an instant

But his arms felt safe and strong...

It only takes a moment

To be loved a whole life long..."

K: "And that is all... that love's about."

I: "And we'll recall... when time runs out."

K+I: "That it only took a moment... to be loved a whole life long..."

Once the song was over, Isadora snuggled up close to Klaus again and they returned to watching their movie. They both had the same thought in their heads: that song was perfect for them. And when they sang it together they couldn't help remembering the day they first laid eyes on each other at Prufrock Preparatory School, and how perhaps it did only take a single moment for them to fall in love... but of course they could never know for sure when they had truly fallen for one another. All they knew was that they were married and happy at last. And it was going to stay that way for a long time.

"Izzie, I'm serious, if you tell anyone about this I will find a way to get back at you."

She giggled and gave him a kiss, "Whatever do you mean, Klaus? I can keep a secret."

~...

"Violet, Fiona, you simply have to know what I got Klaus to do with me a few nights ago."

"Izzie, I don't want to hear about what you do with my brother in your house at night."

"Klaus isn't my brother, but I'd really rather not know anyway," Fiona replied chuckling.

Isadora blushed, "Not that you perverts! Come over here and let me whisper it to you."

The two girls complied and Isadora told them what happened. Their jaws fell open in shock.

"You didn't," They said simultaneously.

"I did, and it was his idea. He'll be so upset that I told you; so don't say anything. He doesn't want Duncan and Quigley to tease him about it."

Violet started laughing, "Are you kidding? Every time Duncan and I watch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, he sings every damn song along with me, even Truly's solo number. He's got nothing to tease anybody about."

Fiona nodded with a sly smirk, "And Quigley can't watch Snow White without singing along with me to every number; yes even 'Someday My Prince Will Come.' If they start giving him crap about it just let us know and we'll tell them to back off."

Isadora laughed, "Oh my god... we married a bunch of dorks didn't we?"

"We did," Violet replied nodding with a smile.

"But we love them all the same," Fiona added.

Isadora raised her glass, "To our dorky husbands, girls. May they never change."

Violet and Fiona raised their glasses in agreement, "Amen to that."

~The End!

It's shorter than I would have liked, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
