I didn't see Jay this morning or the next. He didn't bother to show up for a week. He really wants to get on my nerves. When I left him at his hotel the day he snuck himself in my apartment, he told me to meet him in front of a shop. I stood there for an hour! He was a no show.

Now I had to go see Lisa and how am I going to explain to her that Jay just fell off the face of the earth. It could go something like this "He was abducted by these people seeking sarcastic idiots." Though Lisa won't laugh, she would just throw the closet thing to her at you annd sometimes you wished she didn't have the stapler so close to her. Well what I've heard she's never been like that to me.

I took a big breath and entered the local bookstore. The door automatically made a beeping sound. Will's head popped out from behind the counter. He rubbed on his head. Ouch.

"Geez! That's the third time this day." I looked at him simpatically. He smiled up at me and I returned the smile.

"You're glasses are gone. Did you get contacts?" I asked. He held one finger up and ducked back under the counter. This time he came up with his big nerdy glasses. I like his glasses a lot and the way he dresses too; button up shirts, khaki pants, and suspenders.

"Ta da!" He raised his hands up in the air waving them. I laughed.

"On a serious note, I am here to see Lisa." He nodded. At that moment a clicking noise sounded and I walked into a different section of the bookstore. A bookshelf had opened like if it was a door.

I walked in stepping on the spotless red carpet. The door closing as I stepped in. The walls were painted gold, giving the hallway shine. I didn't walk 3 steps before the floor turned into spiral stairs going up.

I held onto the rail and took my time getting down.

I knocked on her door and waited for her to yell to come in.

"Come in!" I took a deep breath and walked in.

Her office was huge and elegant. Lisa is seated in her chair, looking at her computer screen. This woman is the one that gave me this job. The one who found me sneaking around trying to find clues on who may have killed my dad and uncle. I studied her a bit. She wore a black loose shirt with white pants. Her hair was up in a ponytail. She looked like a business woman ready to make you a offer on a great deal. She is really pretty.

Lisa could be nice and friendly. I've seen her be happy and carefree. I would know, since I've known her since I was 16. She used to not be like this; cold hearted and miserable. Her smile was beautiful, but now all you see is this unhappy woman. 5 years ago when her husband was around, she would smile.

"Where's Jay?" She spoke after a few minutes.

"He hasn't shown up." She just nodded and looked me in the eyes. It looked as if she was trying to read my thoughts, but she can't do that.

"You know I don't really need Jay." She smirked. I was glad I could get a reaction out of her.

"I don't trust Jay to go do missions alone. That's why his working with you." I groaned.

"Was there no one else?" I am sure there is a list if girls willing to be his partner.

"No."

"You're going to make me look for him aren't you?" I already knew the answer, but In my head I wanted her to say no.

"Yes."

"You know for a second I thought you would throw me the stapler. When I told you that Jay fell from the face of the earth." I noticed how close the items to cause great harm were closer to her.

"Don't push it, Dawn." I just laughed as I went out the door.

Not only did I have to find Marcus but now I had to also find Jay. I just want a break you know.

I said bye to Will and walked out of the bookstore feeling confused.

Where should I start?

I got in my car and headed to his hotel. It only took 10 minutes to arrive to the most expensive hotel there is here. The building looked to be made of stone. The hotel is beautiful by far, but expensive.

I walked up to the receptionist who stared at me from head to toe.

"Hey, I am looking for my boyfriend. His name is Jay Black." For a second she looked at me, but than began to type on her keyboard. On her name tag it said "Lola". Lola looked like your average popular girl. Hair up in a ponytail and manicured nails along with her work outfit.

"What's your name?" I looked at her confused but gave her my name anyways.

"Room 709. Here's the key." I didn't actually think she would give me the room key. I gladly took it and went right ahead towards the elevator.

A few people got on with me each pressing different floor numbers. Each one of them left one by one until I was the last one.

I got off on the 7th floor and looked around for room 709. I brushed my finger on the soft till colored walls while looking around.

A "Do not disturb" sign was hanging from the door.

To bad,Jay.

I went to pull my card out but the door was already opened. I pushed the door open slowly with my feet. There could be anyone in here. I just hoped it was not him with some girl. The door was stopped by the wall behind it. There was a hallway before you could reach anything.

I took really slow steps towards the living room. If there was someone here they couldn't see me yet because of the walls. That meant I couldn't see them either.

The living room was trashed. Couch cushions here and there. The center table broken and glass everywhere. Defiantly not a view to admire. I figured the coast was clear and took a few more steps in.

I saw a door to my right and figured that it is the master bedroom. I placed my ear on the door just in case I walked in on something. I heard nothing and pushed the door open, but it was the same as the rest of the hotel room. All his stuff were here. The only place that wasn't trashed was the bathroom.

Things just got more complicated than they were before.

I checked everywhere for anything that would take me to where he may be. He could be dead for all I know. It's been a week since I saw him the odds of him being dead or close are huge.

Frustration was getting to me. I leaned on the kitchen counter and sighed. Where could that idiot be? He can't be dead. Maybe they came for him yesterday and he wasn't dead.

Maybe.

That's all there was!

There was a glass of water on the counter. They may have walked in on him drinking water. I stuck my finger into the water and it was warm. A few days old.

"You couldn't just left a clue, idiot!" I walked around a few more times around the hotel room. A beeping sound came from the bedroom.

His phone!

It could be a bomb ready to blow up.

I reached my hand under the bed. My hand reached for something and thank goodness it was his iPhone.

The screen was lit up and there was a picture.

Yes! This is what I needed! I sat on the bed.

I looked at the picture closer. There were four men dressed in suits. One was looking around while the others trashed the living room. The picture was not that clear. I slide my finger to the next picture and it was like he was looking right at the camera.

Marcus was here.

Why would he take him of all people? As bait, maybe? That couldn't be it. I barely know Jay.
