I eyed everyone making sure I didn't miss him. People were talking and laughing. I kept my eyes out for him. This party was lame and slow. The bar was the only thing attracting people. It didn't surprise me though.
The walls covered in elegant decorations to fit the theme. Everyone wore formal clothes and their best too. I looked down at my dress not liking it at all. It was scratchy. I tugged on the black sleeves. They couldn't have given me a better one. I sat down at the bar seeing that every other seat was taken.
"Here's your drink, miss." I looked at him and than back at the drink. I didn't ask for a drink.
"I didn't ask for a drink. You have the wrong person." I turned back around watching the party. He tapped my shoulder again.
"That men over there paid it for you." I looked at the direction he was pointing at. It was him!
Marcus Black.
I took the drink in my hand. I sat it down not bothering to drink it. I turned back around now looking at the bar drinks. I saw him from the mirror on the wall, making his way over here.
"I knew you'd come." He sat down beside me. I stayed calm. He eyed me.
"I know who you are." He said after a while. I took the drink in my hand, actually thinking about drinking it.
Something went wrong! I was supposed to make the first move, not the other way around.
"Oh, but let's not forget about you, Brent. How many surgeries did it take? Huh?"
He almost spit out his drink. It didn't take long, before I realized who he really was. The picture on his folder didn't give it away. I just needed to see his face up close and the tattoo.
"What? Cat got you're tongue?" I laughed and finally drank from the drink. I got up to leave feeling like I accomplished something. I already had what I needed.
"He's back." He said loud enough for me to hear. I turned around looking at him with a puzzled expression.
"Who's back?" I looked him dead in the eyes. He wouldn't keep it to himself for long. I would get it out of him one way or another.
"Whoever killed you're dad and uncle." He said than immediately disappeared into the crowd of dancing people.
