Ash's POV.

   Thrashing awake, I sat and listened. The birds chirped subtlety in New York, It was early morning after all. The sun peeked through the space of the curtains, just looming over the horizon. I sighed, looking over to my side to check on Eiji. He was still sleeping. A smile creeped onto my face, as I stared plainly at the curtains. I shouldn't wake him up, no matter how shaken up I am, I thought.
   Night terrors never seem to get better. They become more realistic as time goes on. I chill ran through my body, and I guess Eiji felt it. He scrambled awake.
   "Ash...?" His morning voice was adorable.
   I smiled, "Eiji, go back to sleep. It's still early." I reassured him.
   His stubborn self didn't seem to care for my attempts of reassurance. He sat up, looking into my eyes for the truth.
   I couldn't resist him, "It was just a bad dream, Eiji. Nothing to worry about."
   "As if! You should have woke me up immediately, Ash!" He scolded, pulling me into his lap.
   I chuckled to myself, "Okay, okay." I smiled as the words left my lips, rubbing Eiji's thigh lightly.
   He ran his fingers through my blond locks, he knew how to calm me down. I glanced up at my love, whom was smiling down at me. I grinned to myself, nuzzling into Eiji's lap.
   Eiji started humming a tune. He lied back on the pillows. I grinned, moving to rest my ear against his chest. He continued to him, and he started to rub my back and sides gingerly.
   Breaking the silence, Eiji spoke. "I love you Ash, no matter what."
   I chuckled, "I know, Eiji, I know." I snaked my arms around his waist, pulling him close.
   Please, God. Let me be selfish just this once.
