After searching the castle for about an hour, Asha finally just returned to her room. Clearly Finn didn't want to be found at the moment. She would just see him at the dinner banquet.

She collapsed into her bed with a sigh, relishing in the softness of the blankets. There is something quite comforting about laying on a bed in dress clothes. It usually means the event is over, but it's very calming.

She heard the wind whipping outside, and glanced up to look out the window. She then noticed a rolled piece of parchment sitting on her desk.

She carefully unrolled it and read the note in Finn's sloppy handwriting. She was vaguely aware of Havi walking in while she was reading.

Dear Asha,

I know you're going to be mad when you find this, but I really didn't think there was another way. What I am going to become is dangerous, and I can't be around you and Havi and Natalya. I don't want any of you to get hurt.

I am leaving during the coronation. Don't bother trying to find me, as you know I can make that very difficult. I'll keep myself safe for the meantime and look for a cure, although I doubt there is one.

I know you'll make a great Queen, I'll just watch you rule from a safe distance.

Your Friend,

Finn Ward

"What does it say?" Havi asked as Asha sat with the letter trembling in her hands.

"It's from Finn," Asha said quietly. "He left."

Havi stepped forward quietly. "What should we do?"

"We don't go after him, we need to let him come back to us," Asha said "In the meantime, we have a lot of work to do."

Just as she finished her words, a large red shape drifted across the sky outside the window. Havi raced to look at it.

"I think..." He said in wonder. "I think that's a dragon!"
