[Paige's POV]
That's just great. The three stoogies, strikes again. I sat on the drum stool and the three of them stood like statues at the front.
"Psst." I whispered, "Are you just gonna stand there?" Nathalie slightly turned her head to me, and said "Anyone got any good idea? It'll be the best time to say so." "Yo, I have one." Peyton whispered at the corner of her lips, trying so hard to let us hear what she was saying. "Do you guys remember the song that the teacher made us learn in guitar for music class?" "What the fuck. More Than This, by One Direction? No thank you." Whined Tracie under her breath. "Yea, no one will listen to us. That's like, so five years ago." I complained. "Well do y'all have any better idea?" Asked Peyton.
The crowd was still frozen. A person eventually started to boo at us. Then, followed by another person. Next thing we know, we were in the middle of a boo-athon, and the worst part was, they were doing it to us.
"Um, one problem." Tracie yelled. "I don't know how it goes on the bass." "Just follow the rythm with the same chord or key like how it is on the guitar, but instead, you pluck it." Peyton said, as she tune the guitar she was holding.
"Okay.. Here goes nothing.." I said, as I hit the drumsticks in my hands together and counted the rythm.. "1,2.. 1,2,3,4"
Nathalie started picking the strings for the intro of the song. It was the same song that we had to learn for music class in high school, but this time, it seemed to be more rough and punk, because we were using electric guitars. While Nathalie was doing some picking, Peyton entered with strong power chords, then I started to hit some cymbals, with the bass drum. I gotta admit, it was pretty dang sick so far. After that, Tracie came in with some bass notes.
We sang our parts we had for our group in the music class before. And in the bridge, Nathalie suddenly surprised us with some guitar fill ins and shredding. We had no idea she could even do that. After our song finished, we had the crowd finally cheering for us. We went down from the stage, and saw Sammy jumping up and down, and as soon as we got to him, he gave us all a big hug.
"You never told me you could play like that!" He exclaimed, after he gave Nathalie a hug. "Well, I kinda wanted to surprise you all." Said Nathalie, having a wide smile on her face. "Well, you betcha freakin did." Peyton said excitedly, "That was hella awesome!" We all laughed hysterically. "You." I said pointing at Tracie, "Where did you learn how to play bass like that?" "Oh, it's just a little somethin somethin I learned from my brother." Tracie replied with a wink.
"Oh my gosh, guys." I said, grabbing Nathalie's arm, about to pull her. "I think it's better to get out of here, before they figure out that we weren't a real band." "Oh, yeah." Nathalie said as she realised that I was grabbing her arm. "Let's go." Peyton turned to us, to tell us that she's right behind us, as she grab Tracie's arm to pull her.
We said goodbye to Sammy, and started walking towards the exit. I was leading. We tried to avoid to lose each other's grips because it was packed of people. Once we're unchained with each other, there's a possibility that one of us will get sweeped away by the flow of the crowd.
We all safely reached the exit, and hopped in my car. Before starting the car, I took a little peep on my phone to check what time it was.
[9:30]
It was still pretty darn early, in my opinion. As I start the car, "Wanna come over to my place?" I suggested, "Let's have some pizza." "Sounds good." Replied Peyton, while she's on her phone in the backseat of the car. Nathalie nodded, and Tracie replied with a quick "Okay."
