My eyes fluttered a few times as I checked the clock. 3:45 am. Just earlier, my stepmother told me to kill myself. I've been told to do so a lot, but I've been thinking of her wicked words all night. It bothered me so much. I pulled out some earbuds from the drawers under my bed, and started playing music. It helped most of the time, the instruments and vocals burying me in peace. Next thing I knew, I fell asleep.

The school bell rang three times before I woke up. I must've slumped over and passed out during chemistry. I was bored, not to mention I had almost no sleep last night.
I slipped on a sweatshirt before gym, where I would see her there. Maciey. Just her name sends butterflies up my stomach. I couldn't shake her from my mind, and I didn't want to. I walked into gym and looked at her. Her eyes brightened when she saw me, and I shyly glanced down. What? I'm confused. I argued in my head over and over and over until-
"Hi, I'm Maciey. Nice uh, shirt," she smiled and stuck her hand out. My palms got sweaty as I shook her hand. I got really nervous and looked down to remember the shirt I was wearing. I was so nervous that I could vomit. God forbid I vomit right now.
Once school got out, I ran as fast as I could out of that building, my earbuds swinging behind me. I just wanted to go home from that jail cell. Plus I didn't want to get super nervous around red-headed beauty back there. I smiled and kept running until I got to my house.
Now, my house isn't a 5-star mansion, and it isn't a dump either. It looks pretty big on the outside, but the inside just dulls the emotion. I walked in, wiped my feet, and headed straight to the fridge for a soda. Plopping down on the pastel blue couch in the living room, I grabbed the tv remote for some channel surfing. I heard the front door open up, and rustling keys as my father stepped into the house.
"So, Leo, how was school?" he would always ask.
"Just another day in Hell, you know, Jaynie could go back home whenever she likes, since it's uh, right across the street," I would nod and state back. He usually would just roll his eyes and walk away, but today was different. He looked straight at me with a smile and said, "So, Leo, we are having guests over tonight, they're super nice people and their children are your age."
"So you're saying you want me to socialize? You're asking for a lot you know," I replied. "Yes I want you to socialize. It will be good for you." I sighed and stomped up the stairs. "They will be here in a few hours so I suggest you fix yourself up, Leo!" He shouted.
I put on a solid, spaghetti black dress that ended slightly above my knees. I tied my blue hair back into a messy bun, and added a black bow. I slipped on black trancluscent knee socks and no shoes. After I fixed my makeup, I walked downstairs only to see the few people I didn't want to see next to each other.
