At that moment, Changbin felt he had about three different options. The first involved breaking a window and getting the hell out of this place. Another involved backing away slowly from the room. The last one, however, involved playing pretty boy's game and giving him the same energy and signals he was sending his way.

I mean, could you blame him?

Pretty boy's long hair was tousled and ruffled up, like bed-head only slightly more... lewd. (H̶e̶'s̶ ̶t̶a̶l̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶b̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶a̶f̶t̶e̶r̶-s̶e̶x̶ ̶h̶a̶i̶r̶.). There was a gleam in his eyes that reminded Changbin of a lioness. Everything about the way his shirt hung loosely over his shoulder to the way he was currently perched all pretty on his knees screamed 'soft', 'warm', 'cuddly', 'smells good', 'bottom-bitch'.

Changbin took a step forward and licked his lips. Perhaps something good could come out of this visit, Changbin thought. He would have the honor of potentially wrecking the prettiest boy he'd ever seen. Ignoring the obvious fact that they were both strangers to one another, Changbin took a couple more steps toward the beautiful boy on the bed, fingers gently tracing his belt.

"Wow. You really think I'm that dumb?"

What.

The boy scoffed. He ran his fingers through his hair and stared deadpan into Changbin's eyes.

"I'm not stupid, Channie-hyung. You don't have to play pretend with me. I was only playing around... I know you don't see me in that way."

The fuck was going.

Pretty boy nestled himself back into the covers. His back was faced towards the very confused latter.

"Could you close the door on your way out, Chan-hyung? I... I'm still a little tired... oh, you can leave. You don't have to stay with me this time."

Changbin blinked a few times. His brain was still trying to process what he had just heard.

So no head?

Changbin left the room as fast as he could but kept his back pressed against the door.

"So he was just playing with me? What a fucking tease... and Chan-hyung? Who the hell is a Chan-hyung? The fuck I look like being called Chan?" Changbin muttered disdainfully to himself.

"And I still haven't found the fucking bathroom."

"Changbin-ssi, we're so glad you could join us

"Changbin-ssi, we're so glad you could join us. You've made an excellent choice, deciding to come."

Changbin rolled his eyes. His stepmother continued complimenting Changbin, enunciating them clear as day to Changbin's father specifically.

"He's grown so tall!"

"He looks just like you. So handsome!"

"He seems so fit to carry on your empire, dear. The perfect son."

No doubt about it, she was trying to be in both their favors - father and son alike.

"Changbin, you're eating so little!" His stepmother dramatically gasped. "Here, have some more wagyu beef.  You know, your father had this specially prepared for tonight. My son loves meat. He takes it from his mother, ho ho!  We were made to eat expensive cuisines and delicacies. It runs in our blood. Your brother, you see, he... wait a minute... Butler Choi!"

A well-groomed man appeared at once at his stepmother's side. His grey hair and the lines on his forehead and corner of his eyes signified old age, but the man didn't look a day over forty. Another thing about him was the fact that he was dressed in what appeared to be a silky rose-gold suit, contrasting greatly with what the norm was for the Seo household - black.

As if reading his mind, Changbin's stepmother rested her chin on her palm and winked in his direction, smirking. Changbin visibly gagged.

"Silk and rose-gold... don't they look much more exquisite than just plain black? Now, Butler Choi. Where is..."

Changbin drowned out everything he heard from then on. He came to the conclusion that whatever his stepmother said was useless and he wouldn't bother wasting his precious brain cells listening to her speak.

He picked at the abalone and lobster on his plate with a gold fork. Changbin could feel something festering up in his stomach, and it wasn't hunger. From his peripheral view, he could see his father staring at him, waiting for an outburst, so he could do the one thing he always exceeded in when it came to Changbin and his mom.

It sure as hell wasn't being a good father and husband... it was to comparecomparecompare then compare some more. The son of a bitch dared to compare his mom to the greed-filled creature at the end of the table, saying how she was younger, more beautiful, and wealthier. And now, his father was sure to compare Changbin to his new stepson.

"You know, Changbin... Sooyoung's son excels in multiple fields."

Ah, here it is.

"He's joined national teams for tennis, volleyball, figure skating, and equestrian related sports, whereas you've only ever done swimming... or was it basketball? Sooyoung tells me that her son always gets number one in class rankings and top five in school rankings, whereas you've never even made it into the top hundred. If I recall correctly, you've gotten into five fights in school this year alone... it can't possibly compare to middle school, and you're already on your last year of high school, so imagine that. I see him as a natural-born leader, Changbin. He's quite handsome, too, with good proportions. I can imagine a future where my biggest corporate enemies and I would be able to settle our differences and merge companies if he were to be engaged with their daughters. My, if he was here now, he'd-"

Changbin slammed his plate down on the marble floors. The sound was sudden and deafening enough in its own way to place a hush on all the chatter his brain couldn't handle.

Changbin lifted his head and gave his father a menacing glare. He smirked when he noticed that even he, big-and-bad CEO of Seo Industries, broke into cold sweat when met with the wild gaze of his son.

No, Changbin thought. From this day forward, I am no longer this man's son. I will cut all ties and relations to him and his new family. If they ever try and come near mom and me again, so help me... I'll destroy everything he's ever worked for from the ground-up, then when I have them begging for mercy on their knees, fist bleeding, I will make them repent.

Changbin stood up from the chair, still leering at his father. The staff and personnel in the room that day could swear they saw armies of demons behind Changbin, waiting. A single stare made them quake violently. Something ancient and biological inside their minds warned them to flee from this predator in the room with them. That glare still brings them nightmares to this day.

No one dared to stop the young god as he left the Seo manor.

A sigh comes from the far end of the table.

"Aigoo, they haven't even met yet and they're already so alike."

"Both of them refuse to meet the other and are so, so stubborn and hardheaded... say, didn't Hyunjin smash his plate down, too?"

"No, dear... Hyunjin threw his plate at the head chef and flicked all of us off. Then he retired to the guest bedroom instead of his own for some reason. Nevermind the fact how he insulted one of the best chefs in Seoul. His nose might've been broken, but they say his cooking spirit is, too."

"What did he say to him?"

"Oh, um..." Sooyoung gestured for Butler Choi to lend her his ear, "He said..."

Butler Choi's face paled.

"Oh dear..."
