Ball is life.

Changbin repeated this mantra over and over again in his head. Why? Maybe it was because of the sound the ball made when it came into contact with the ground, its 'thwak' ing like music to Changbin's ears. Maybe it was because while dribbling, Changbin flew through the courtyard as if he sprouted wings. He smelled his teammates' sweat and heard the sounds of their panting.  He had taken off his P.E uniform jacket ages ago and the bare muscles that bulged underneath his tank top came into contact with cool, crisp air.

Changbin crouches low, passing the ball in between his legs. He spots Felix guarding his left. They both nod in silent understanding. Changbin fakes a right, then shoots. Boom, there it is. The ball circled the rim before falling into the net.

Ha, Kobe!

The boys - no. His boys hoot and cheer, pounding their chests and wrapping their own sweaty, muscular arms around Changbin's neck. This victory makes Changbin feel like King of the World.

Felix sprung up in joy and exclaimed mixtures of 'let's gooo's and 'let get it's. his arm was one of the first to encircle Changbin's neck. Felix's sweaty bangs were stuck to his forehead and his face was flushed pink. He gives Changbin a jolly ol' smile then pats him on the back.

"Hyung, were you showing off or what? Tryna' impress? You were a real try-hard today," he snickered. (Felix was one to talk, Changbin thought, because after the Aussie said that, he suavely swept his bangs to the side then lifted his shirt to wipe the sweat off his forehead, revealing his stomach and v-line. When there were some kyaaaa's heard from the ladies and a few joking wolf-whistles from their buddies, Felix swiftly put his shirt back down, his face flushing harder than before. Typical youngin').

Felix was right though; there was a reason why today Changbin was especially keen on winning...

For if you looked just a bit harder past the throng of lovely ladies appreciating the bromance and Sleeveless Fits™, just through the group of other students ignoring the coach barking orders at them to stretch properly, one would be able to spot a certain raven-haired boy sitting perched on a tree away from the other students. Despite looking bored, he would steal occasional glances at Changbin and his boys. And that was more than enough for Changbin to get riled up.

He wanted to impress Hyunjin. God forbid, he wanted Hyunjin to think he was cool. And handsome. Could he add 'handsome' to the list? That's why while wiping his sweat, Changbin would also very discreetly flex his biceps - as he took quite a bit of pride in them - even though doing so made him feel more embarrassed than embarrassed could be.

'Why the hell am I doing this, oh my fucking... this is so stupid... this is- fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuc-'

Hyunjin was really looking at him now. Like, really. They're making eye contact, holy shit. And Pretty Boy's got his head tilted, too. He's sitting sprawled out so casually. This defiant and arrogant glint in Hyunjin's eyes makes him look like he owns the whole damn place. Why's he gotta be so gotdamn charismatic?

So that Changbin didn't fucking combust, he started running laps around the courtyard while dribbling the ball and making random passes to his teammates. It seemed today was his lucky day. Every shot he threw made it into the net.

Changbin was so in the zone and chasing his victory-high that he didn't even notice Hyunjin getting up and sauntering over to the court, lookin' all cool and suave with his hands in his pockets.

Changbin dunked while his other best mate - Bang Chan - tried blocking him. They laugh, despite technically being on opposing teams, and clasp their hands together in a bro-hug. That's when Felix jogs over and taps on Changbin's shoulder to get his attention. He looks serious, differing from his norm, and juts his thumb over his shoulder.
