"Who did you contact?"

"This really seems unnecessar-"

"Who did you contact, Beta," Valentin asked again, this time more aggressively.

"The longer we stay here and discuss the matters of my mind -a dreadful place, really. You should avoid going in there. Lots of smut- the further away November Blake and her merry band of rouges get."

He growled lowly, eyes irked with a tint of black. Part of me thought I should shut up.

My wolf disagreed strongly.

My wolf wanted me to say everything that has been on my mind since the moment he started interrogating me an hour ago starting with his vodka coated breath and ending with his stupid ass accent that made it impossible to understand shit, including with the reason he was obsessed with the love of my life.

But I digress.

"He is right, Valentin," a man in the corner with a somehow thicker accent spoke up," we must be going soon or we lose her again."

"Grab the other one and let us go. I will take Beta here with me."

The men stood up really quickly and started off towards Ajax and the rest of the wolves. At some point during my short interrogation Ajax had gathered himself and was now standing solemnly with his hands clasped together and his head bowed slightly.

Had I not seen him blubbering and hysterical a couple hours ago I would have thought he was threatening.

I wish now more than ever that rouges were in touch with their wolves. He would be able to have a fair fight against these bastards and November would come running to help me with those wonderfully violent friends of hers.

What? I'm not against being saved by a girl.

Especially one as hot as my mate.

November's POV

The sun shone red when it peaked over the mountains. Carlisle stared at it in disapproval but said nothing and continued in the direction  of the star's fading path.We had been walking for some time now and a combination of fear and eagerness welcomed themselves to my mind.

Lucas and Ajax are with that horrible Beta and it's my fault. Had I disconnected myself from the others months- years- ago this wouldn't have happened.

But it wasn't Ajax or even Lucas that worried me, it was Isabella. She walks slowly and every few seconds she glances back towards the hills we had just climbed through as if they would come galavanting through the dirt and hurry to our sides to finish this journey with us. It's so sad to see the woman who reminds me of Manifest Destiny looking like Ariadne.

If Isabella runs after Ajax and tries to save him them Sophia will follow, however. I can live without the rest of them but Sophia has done so much for me. The twins deserve to find this haven more than Ajax or I. They've been searching their whole lives.

They can't lose it when they're so close.

"How much further," Sophia asked, holding her sister's hand as she walked closer to Carlisle.

"I'm not sure. Minutes, hours. Not much. My guy should be finding us soon."

"Will they be able to find us," Isabella ran over to Carlisle's side and placed a hand on his shoulder to stop him," When we get there, will they be able to find us?"

He glanced down at her hand before removing it and turning to face her completely. His blue eyes turned sad and pity fell out of them in rivers.

"Let's hope not."

Her lip quivered once. Twice. Then she picked up her sister's hand again and they continued slowly behind Carlisle and I. He still looked sad about Isabella but neither of us dared say anything. She would hear.

__

Carlisle's friend met us almost three hours down the path. He was a scrawny man with a thin face and bright eyes. His hair is light in a way that reminds me of Rapunzel's and went to just an inch above his shoulders. His name is Christian.

"Very fine crew," he called out to Carlisle as he climbed the last summit towards us. He had a nearly fading Australian accent which told us he had searched far the world for the Haven as well.

Beside me, Thomas narrowed his eyes at Christian and flexed a single fist at his side. I'm not sure if anyone else saw this, however, since he was half hidden by Carlisle himself. My fingers inched towards the knife hidden by my jacket.

"Christian."

"What? No better comment? Come on, West," he wrapped Carlisle up in a hug," Thought we'd never see you again over here."

"That was the point," Carlisle pulled away from Christian and backed up so he was near Thomas and I. "I didn't return on my own accord, Christian."

"Ohh, I see. These rouge's kidnapped you, didn't they, mate? You lot heard there was a wolf that knew 'bout the Haven and you took him. Smart."

"You do understand why we had to do it, correct," Sophia spoke up, going to stand closer to this man," We needed to find the Haven."

"Relax, love," he put his hands on her shoulders and looked her in the eyes," All rogues need to find it. I get it."

She smiled at him in the most airy way. Her hair was half tucked behind her ears and her eyes fluttered slightly. She was still in the sweater-like dress that we stole in New York and, though she had taken care to keep them nice, the boots which were now more beige than black.

"Let's get you all back to the safest place in the world, eh? Follow me."

We all took our last steps towards what we had been waiting for our whole lives.
