YAMATO: Chapter seven

Alex Carter's P.O.V

"Jesus Christ, we're running late!" I shouted as I carefully jogged inside the building.

"Tell me something I don't know." Stanley walked calmly.

"Faster, Elgort!" I pulled his wrist. Of all days to walk slowly, why today?

We stepped into the elevator, Stanly rubbing his wrist.

"Should've just taken the stairs! Damn it." I mumbled.

"The two of you are expected to be in Mr. Anderson's office." Vanessa smiled at the both of us as soon as we reached the front desk.

"What does he want?" Stanley groaned

"Race you there!" I said and started running.

I slid a chair in Stanley's way, blocking his way. While laughing so hard.

"Hey! That's cheating!" Stanley shouted.

Everyone's looking at us, like we're retarded.

"I win!" I shouted as I stopped in front of Mr. Anderson's office. We're making too much noise, but Mr. Anderson and I have a daughter-father relationship so Im sure he doesnt mind.

"But you threw a chair on my way!" Stanley protested.

"Please Elgort." I scoffed "Even if I didn't you'll still lose."

"You cheated."

"Did not."

"Did too."

"Children please. We have a guest." Mr. Anderson said as we stepped inside his office.

"Sorry." Stanley and I said in unison.

"Copycat" Stanley whispered.

"Mr. Elgort, Ms. Carter. I'd like you to meet our guest." The old man smiled at us.

The man sitting on the chair stood up and turned around.

I froze.

My knees feel like jellos. Shaking, cold sweats, shaking fingers. Unpaintable face.

"A pleasant day, Mr. Elgort." He walked toward Stanley and shook his hand

"Likewise," Stanley said.

"Ahh, Alex." He rubbed his hands "It's nice to finally see you again." He said with a stupid smile plastered on his face. A stupid one that can make you kick his guts, hard.

"A-Anthony?" I stuttered.

Woman up! Alex! My subconscious reminds me.

Don't make Stanley ask questions. My innervoice adds.

"Im quite pleased to know you still remember me." He smiled

"Ofcourse," I gulped "Iam too, good thing we still remember each other."

"Mr. Hoult here, is an old friend of mine." I informed Mr. Anderson and Stanley.

"Friend, I see." Anthony laughed fakely.

"I believe we were." I smiled.

"So what's our guest's agenda here today Mr. Anderson? If you don't mind me asking, I have a lot of paper works to do." I said, gathering every single bravery I have in my body.

"Ah. Im glad you asked. You see, Mr. Hoult owns the Diamond hotels and he's proposing that the Mariott hotels should team up." Mr. Anderson said.

"And what do we get as an advantage, Mr. Hoult?" I asked.
