SHOPPING WITH her mother was gruesome

her mother was a bargainer: she liked the deals, discounts and clearance racks and hunted for them until they were the only things she would look for clothes in at any store she was at

but today was weird, her mother was going to the mall (aka the literal capital of unnecessarily expensive clothing)

she asked her mother why they were going to the mall, she was so used to shopping at retail stores back in iowa — there was only one mall in existence of the small ass town where she use to live so she hadn't grown used to them

but she could definitely get used to this.
malls in hugely populated states were kind of amazing

she bought clothing items from forever 21,
lots of lotions and body scrubs from bath & body works and loads more — she actually felt like a millennial amongst all the other teens that were there on the brightly lit saturday afternoon

when driving back home a couple of hours later her mother sprung news on her that they were invited to the annual neighborhood block party

and what the hell was that?

but she didn't ask, she was too excited to even worry about it

she sprinted upstairs while her mother started to clean, kim played music on the speakers and began to look on her phone for cute hairstyles and 'what in the hell to wear for block parties'

"what's all the excitement for?" kim didn't even have to look up from her phone to know it was him

how could she ever forget that voice?

"there's a neighborhood block party tonight and i don't even know what that is," kim giggled and looked up to survey him "do you ever change out of those clothes?" she asks nodding her head towards the outfit he was in since the first time she'd seen him

leo's face was hit with an unreadable expression. "they still do those?" leo sighs "those parties were some of the best yet craziest times of my life"

kim snorts "you sound like an old person" she looks back at her phone

"that's probably because i died back in 1997"

that threw kimberly way off

kimberly got off her phone and sat up to look at him as he was standing near her bay window
