Chapter one; Love of my life

Odessas pov
I left my house with a light duffle bag strapped onto my back,my peacoat and the clothes on my back.
As i walked down the sidewalk,which was glazed with a generous amount of ice. I slowly realized my short boots wouldn't provide me any grip and i would soon fall flat onto my bottom,i moved onto the grass which was coated with flat white snow that made crunching sounds whenever i took a step in it. I called Josh to ask him for directions and i started to get nervous and fumble with the phone as it rang,it rang once more then i heard his silky sweet voice. "Hello? Who is it.." He asked, i started to stutter as i still have some feelings for him.

"I-its Des,i needed directions t-to the lodge.." i mumble and start to lightly chew at my lip for his answer, instead i heard him grunt then he told me where to go. I smiled giddily and started to get lost in his voice, "o-okay!..i guess ill catch a cab down to the pathway.." i explain as i heard him agree. "Be safe Des.." his husky voice tainted my mind then i said goodbye before hanging up.
I pulled my matte black beats out of my bag and slipped them over my wavy brown locks,i turned on love of my life by queen as i started walking to a pretty common taxi area.

After countless slips and almost breaking my ankles,i finally managed to find a cab. I got in and i sat in the passenger seat, i showed the woman a picture of the location on google maps and she started to drive. I scrolled through my music and turned on Bohemian Rhapsody. I leaned my head back into the seat and looked out the window,the city was starting to go fields,to nothing then finally to the woods. She couldn't pass a certain area so i saved her the trouble and got out,
"That'll be twenty five dollars.." she said as she held her hand out-which is quite fucking rude. I sighed as i pulled out the money and held it out to her, she snatched it and i actually felt my face turn red. I turned on my boot heel and stomped into the dark,luring woods. I crept into the snow,cracking twigs and stepping into the crunchy snow.

I turned my music down and i could of sworn i heard something behind me,i slid my beats down to my neck and turned around. I started to shiver then remembered i was wearing a skirt to match with my jacket- why did i wear a fucking skirt in winter?..I have no idea.
I pulled the beats back over my head and walked towards the gate,i found a note that said 'the gate is busted' I sighed and shook my head,i felt vibrations behind me-must be the wind. I felt a hand on my shoulder and the hands pulled my beats off my head and on my neck, i shrieked and jumped. I heard a familiar voice,
i turned around to see of course Matt.
"Matt!! Its not funny its dark out and then you scare me after you know what happened a year ago!" i hissed out at him,the cold breeze pricked at my face and left odd tingles. He put his hands up, "Hey! it was just a joke! And you weren't even there!" he said which made my blood boil- i cant believe this idiot used to like me. I walked closer to him and looked up at him,trying my best to look intimidating. "Fuck off" i spit at him and he just rolls his eyes, "Beth was my best fucking friend.." i said then turned around and went to the cable cars, I soon noticed Emily behind Matt as they followed me.

When i made it there we found Sam and Chris trapped in the room, i quickly scrambled and unlocked it.
"Des!" Sam exclaimed and hugged me tightly,i hugged her back and i guess she saw some tears glinting in my eyes because a look of sadness etched onto her features. My boots lightly crunched into the snow as i took a step back and looked at Chris,he had a sheepish smile on his features. He leaned down to hug me as i tip toed to hug him back- Man i haven't seen these guys in forever..
"So,are you guys like done now?" Emily said,whilst chewing hard on her gum. Everyone shot her a look and she rolled her eyes,i was shorter than most of the girls.I was as tall as Emily.Matt blinked hard and then looked at me,his brown eyes just rested on me for a couple minutes as the wind howled. I snapped out of my weird Pocahontas like feeling and turned to Sam-who of course knew this place the best.
  "What!" She exclaimed,throwing her hands up defensively. I gave her that '''Come on dont act stupid''' look then she sighed, "Okay!..Fine..Follow me.." She mumbled as she started to lead us towards the lodge.
   I slid my beats back up onto my head and played one of my favorite Conan grey songs,the soft melody began playing in my ears as i felt the satisfying sound of each step in the crisp snow. We walked through the enchanting woods for a bit then we had to split up to find other routes,Emily and Matt went one way-Sam,Chris and Ashley went one way and i just stood there awkwardly. I wasn't here for the incident that took place last year, and so since they were talking about it..I just thought it'd be best if i went alone. I wave bye to them as i followed a more darker path,i sighed turning on I want to break free. I pulled my coat a little higher to my neck as i ventured into the area,i felt as if someone was watching me as i stopped dead in my tracks. I turned around and looked around- Oddly..There was no one. I figured it was just jitters or chills because- I don't know about you.. but being alone in the dark woods,where your best friends went missing.. Well,its just terrifying. A gust of wind blew some dry leaves off of the dead,Alfred Hitchcock like trees. They no longer clung to the dead branches as they wilted down around me,i rubbed my shoulders lightly as i started to walk again.
