A year ago
I walked along the crowded streets,
i hummed quietly as my beats played Queen into my ears.
Its pretty hot out here, the bright sun lets out golden rays, warming up my skin and turning my shoulder length hair wavy.
I look up to see Beth and Hannah on the other side of the street, i'm about to wave to them when i suddenly feel my beats being pulled down to my neck.
I gasp and turn around, i hear Matt laughing. I look up at him and scowl,
"Not cool.." I mumble as he winks at me.
"Think again Dess." He says, before he starts walking beside me.
I know he wants to talk so i turn my music off politely.
"So whats up and kickin?" he asks me,
his gentle brown eyes shimmering.
I fan myself off with one hand due to the heat and smile at him.
"Been doing alright, you?" I ask him, noticing sweat forming on his temple.
He adjusts his letterman jacket and smirks,
"You're talking to the new captain of the football team." He huffs on his nails and brushes them off on his jacket, before flashing me his pearly teeth.
I can't help but smile brightly as i reply,
"Your teeth are blinding." I remark, dramatically putting a hand infront of my eyes.
He chuckles then the same devious smirk plays onto his lips.
"Wouldn't wanna stop you from seeing me.." He flirts and i raise a brow.
"Matt... That's a good one!" I exclaim before looking over at Hannah and Beth.
I wave to them and they make their way over to us, Beths bangs bounce (Try saying that five times fast) a little as she walks.
My eyes shoot up to Matts light brown ones, his curly hair is slightly wet and sticking to his forehead.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer." He says whilst beginning to flex his arms.
"Blech.." I say, then regret it because Matt is everything but 'Blech.'
But he's my close friend, i dont wanna lose a good friend like him, i'm not into him like that.
My thoughts were knocked out of my mind in a second, as Matt waved his hand infront of me.
"Hello? Anyone home?" I heard his voice, then blinked a couple times.
"Hm...- Oh, sorry i was zoning out.." I say then my eyes wander to behind Matt, Beth and Hannah are standing there.
"Hi Des!" Hannah exclaimed, i smiled as she adjusted her glasses.
"Hey Han hey Beth.." I say,i noticed Josh floating through the crowd and i blushed brightly as his glimmering cyan eyes met mine.
My curls saved me by falling infront of my face,i sighed but he made his way over as Beth,Hannah and Matt talk.
I've had a crush on Josh since the first time he said, "Hey Dess."
He's just so funny, adorable, he says the right things and those magical eyes of his. I sigh.
When i look up from my black doc martens paired with grey shorts i see him right infront of me.
I blush wildly, his eyes linger on me for a bit, before he abruptly looks into the scene before us.
The crowded streets of our sidewalk, people scurrying along to get to work,school and home.
My eyes trail to the sky, where the light blue meets a peachy color, blending into a gradient.
"Hey Dess." He says, i look up at him and i smile. Matt, Beth and Hannah are talking about the woods.
"Hey Josh, how have you been?" I say, i hear the slight nervousness in my voice and i hated it.
"I've been good, hey Odessa i was wondering if you wanted to catch coffee sometime?" He asked suddenly, i widened my eyes slightly then smiled.
"Sure! Give me a place and time i'll be there." I said over confidently, Damnit.
I blinked hard and cringed, what the fuck did i just say.. He probably thinks i'm desperate.
He chuckled , "How about.. Today, at six." He says, softly, his eyes locked with mine.
"Yeah, at Café noir?" I reply, not breaking eyecontact.
He smiles, "Yep. The usual booth"
I giggle as i look up at him, i chew at the corner of my lip as he leans down a bit, tucking a loose curl behind my ear.
I shiver at his touch, as he coolly sweeps his finger against my cheek.
We look at eachother, his eyes flicker to my lips then back to my eyes. I get so nervous i open my mouth a little.
I see a pink tinge creep onto his cheeks then he clears his throat,
"Yeah.. See you then." He says, standing straight again.
I feel my face get hot as he winks at me, before turning around and walking along the street.
Did i just get a date with Josh? Oh my god..
Matt comes into my view and he looks slightly mad, he watches Josh drown into the crowd before he scoffs.
"Josh bugging you again? I can teach him a less-" I cut him off with a giggle,
he raises a brow.
"Josh is my friend! We're just gonna meet up at the Café.." I trail off as he glares at me.
I sigh then walk up to Beth and Hannah, we talk for a bit before we all walk together.
Matt runs up next to me as we walk, his cologne is nice.
I blink softly as we walk, thinking of what Josh and i could be.

Sorry i've been idle, i had a ton of school tests and projects and something medical just came up..
