LUCIA'S POV

All I can hear is laughter. These people must be really happy!

"Wow, Lucia, didn't peg you for the type!"

Did I make them this happy?

"Never thought I'd wanna smash such a frigid bitch, and yet here we are!"

More laughter - but that wasn't very nice. Whatever.

"Girl, take it off!"

I do what I'm told and they cheer.

I made them happy.

That's all I wanted.

..............

"Lucia, it's 8:30! You're gonna be late!"

I groan and roll over, judging the size of my bed very incorrectly and landing on the floor with a thud. Aunt Julia laughs, only covering her mouth when I shoot her a look.

"Hey, not my fault you slept in,"

"Can you just make me some breakfast or something?" I snap. "Like you said, I'm gonna be late,"

Julia, being a twenty-something, merely rolls her eyes and waltzes out of the room. Mom always said she had an attitude; guess that's one thing I got from her.

Begrudgingly, I drag myself off the ground, mentally cursing my iPhone alarm for not going off as it should have - especially on a Monday, of all days. I trade my sports bra and sweats for ripped jeans and a cropped blue thrasher hoodie, and I admire my outfit choice for a minute before accentuating my worried brown eyes with mascara.

Why do I keep having these dreams? And why, of all possible times, are these memories resurfacing now?

Whatever, I guess.

It slips my mind just as soon as it entered as I rush down the stairs and out the door with my books, skipping the breakfast that Julia doubtlessly didn't make.

I have more important things to worry about than nightmares.

GRAYSON'S POV

"Dude, what was I thinking?"

Ethan groans. I don't blame him - I haven't stopped talking about her since Friday.

"Not this again. I swear to god, if you don't shut up about her soon I'm gonna have to shut that mouth for you." I laugh at him, grabbing a black tee from my drawer and throwing it on as he glares at me.

"Did you not see her?" I raise my eyebrows. "Total smokeshow, and she's new to the school!"

"Yeah, so?"

"She doesn't know our reputation, man. Talk about easy," I chuckle.

"Well, Gray, did you not hear her? They way she was speaking I thought she was gonna rip your head off. Doesn't sound like easy to me," I take a swing at him. He ducks and grins when I miss.

"Whatever. I don't mind a challenge every so often."

"Yeah, but this girl looks like nothing but a challenge to me. Besides, there are so many other total smokeshows -" - the little bitch raises his voice, mocking me - "- at this school already that don't give two shits about your rep," He turns his back to me to put on his vans and grab the schoolbag he never uses.

"For now? Fuck them,"

"Isn't that all you want, though?" Ethan's eyebrows practically hit the ceiling, and for a second I don't know how to respond.
