When they arrive in the village it is night, they have timed it so that the Hokage is going to be the first person to meet them.

The Yondaime startles slightly as they appear in his office. She can hear the ANBU shifting in their spots in response to the possible threat.

She has to suppress a grin. Her partner has a flair for dramatics that seems to have rubbed off on her.

Their new assignment doesn't come as a surprise. They are assigned to ANBU as a tag-team. They will be operatives 'Crow' and 'Cobra' their masks are a solid black with red lines around the eyeholes and beak of the crow mask and purple ones around the eyeholes of the snake mask.

Hearing their first mission makes them freeze. Sakura is to be assigned to a genin team and Orochimaru is assigned to the research department.

At their stillness the Hokage reassures them that he is not dissolving their partnership, only splitting them up temporarily. After a debrief he sends them to the housing office for a two person flat in the shinobi district.
