"It's good to be back..." he whispered, soft orange locks wavering in the wind. All night he waited there. All night. Until finally....-

The next morning Kageyama awoke and got ready for work, leaving Tobiya to get ready for school with a simple goodbye.

He was about to go down the stairs until... He dropped his briefcase in shock. No. Surely not.

The man smiled up happily at the other man stood atop the apartment stairs.

Hazel eyes stared into shocked blue ones, reading the surprise, upset, hurt and excitement.

Kageyama looked to him. No, no, surely. It couldn't. He was dead. These fifteen years he was dead. Why? If he was real why would he come back now?

Despite the questions, Kageyama managed to heave out a small whisper. "Shoyo..."

Slowly. Slowly. Inch by inch. He moved down the stairs. Quicker. Quicker. He began to run down the stairs. Until he finally finally reached the bottom and enveloped Hinata in a hold so precious and tight even all the jewels the world could offer couldn't compensate for.

Tears brimmed at his deep blue eyes and slowly began to slip faster and faster down his face.

Familiar tiny hands positioned themselves on his shoulder blades. "Tobio...it's me... I'm here, I'm really here..." He whispered, burying his face into the bigger man's shoulder.

Hysterically sobbing, Kageyama latched onto Hinata. They stayed there for ages, half an hour or forty-five minutes.

Neither dared to speak, until Hinata finally fessed up that he pretended to die to see what else volleyball could offer him. He went all over the world, coaching, playing, and caring.

Of course Kageyama was angry. He could've done that anyway! But he didn't care! He had his Hinata back. Finally, after all this time...He was back!

"Daddy?" The confused voice of Tobiya at the top of the stairs sounded. She held his briefcase in one hand and her bag in another.

As Kageyama lifted his head up, Hinata's figure whispered away in the wind. Desperate to keep him, Kageyama clawed at the air, but to no avail. He was gone.

Flushed faced and wide-eyed, Kageyama looked to his daughter. He stared at her scared face, watched as her long black locks blew in the slight breeze from the corridor.

"Honey, is everything...okay?" He tried to bluff, but he knew she'd seen him hugging the air, talking to himself- to her mother.

"Daddy...are you okay?" She asked, slowly making her way down the stairs, blowing her fringe from her face.

She hugged him tenderly from behind and bit back her own hurt. "Did you see mummy?" Tobiya asked, gulping inaudibly.

Nodding with a soft smile, Kageyama put his hands over hers. "Mhm...I did. I didn't have enough time to tell him about you...but I know he's proud."

Gently, Kageyama took her hand and then his briefcase. They walked hand in hand out of the apartment building.

Even if he didn't have Hinata, his own time was just around the corner: he felt it.

They would meet again. One day they would. One day.

In honour of season 2 and saving my sanity I finished it. Not to mention to show you that my writing style has changed a lot and this book is a shitty area cringey arse thing.

Seriously, you should read my idolish7 book even if you don't know what it is. Over there, I write 3000-4600 words of decent quality in a week. This book is pathetic compared to that.

I'm grateful to those of you that still read this though!

I hope your Christmas was good and happy!

Later crew~Fleet.
