Skylar's Pov:

"So are we meeting all seven of them or are we also meeting their family?"

"I am meeting with a few of them; you're on the other hand, will be watching over Garnet."

"Why am I watching over Garnet?"

"Because someone does and you have no business in hearing  what we're going to be talking about."

"Rude much."

"It's called being truthful Skylar."

Rolling my eyes, I couldn't help but mimic Alex's last sentence under my breath even though I knew she could hear me. After meeting with Natalie yesterday, Alex's attitude changed completely, and although I knew she wasn't mad at me, a part of me felt as though I didn't help the situation at all.

In hindsight, there was nothing I could do to help her, so I stayed quiet as she planned what her next move was going to be.

I didn't understand the extent to what was happening with the demons and the hunters, but apparently, it was causing problems for us angels. I, of course, was left entirely oblivious to the matter since Alex didn't want to involve me for fear that something was going to happen to me.

After what Natalie said, I wouldn't blame her. If the girl didn't hate Alex guts before, she surely did now. Alex, for the most part though, didn't seem fazed by the insults Natalie threw at her. While it came to me though, Alex was beyond upset that she mentioned me and because of that, went to the extreme to make sure I couldn't be found without her approval. Alex ended up changing where we were going to stay at a more secluded area. We ended up decided to go with a beach house instead of a cabin near the woods because apparently, I wasn't skilled enough to navigate through the trees. The house in its entirety was beautiful, but I was more drawn towards the sand and ocean than anything else.

I, of course, wasn't allowed near the ocean because I couldn't swim. So instead, I sat on my blanket, with a basket of food, near by, looking out at the ocean.

"I hear cars. I'll be right back."

Turning over to look at Alex, I nodded my head softly and watched as she used her speed to leave quickly. As soon as she left, I couldn't help but allow my shoulders to drop a bit. I was always tense near Alex whenever she was mad.

Deciding not to sit around by myself, I got up from the floor before cleaning my hands off from all the sands that got stuck to them. I then turn in the direction that Alex went off to and used my super-speed to follow her.

When I found myself close to the front of the house, I slowed down and allowed myself to start walking. It wasn't every day I got to meet someone new, so I wanted to make an excellent first impression on Alex's friends. Allowing myself to relax, I walked around the corner of the house and walked towards Alex, who was greeting her friends.

Alex didn't have to turn to know I was behind her; however, she did nevertheless and gave me a small smile. Standing in front of her was a couple of people, three of them who I already knew, Amber, David and a little red hair called Garnet.

As soon as Garnet locked eyes with me, he let go of what seemed to be his mother's hand and ran over to me.

"Skylar!"

"Garnet!"

Bending down to hug Garnet, I couldn't help but laugh.

"I see Garnet fancies you."

Letting go of Garnet, and looking at the person who spoke, I noticed it was a male that seemed to just glow with power. His brown hair was nicely combed, and his eyes were beyond breathtaking.
