‘Life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it’ ~Ferris Bueller

The rest of the week went by in a blur. Adam was still in hospital and Justine had rudely thrown all my clothes around in search for something decent for me to wear to the Mariam's birthday party.

“Justine, I can just wear a pair of jeans and a decent top" I shouldn't have had told her about this party.

"Are you crazy? You have been invited to a birthday party and you want to wear jeans and a top!" she shrieked like a mad woman, still rummaging through my clothes.

"My lord Dani, you have no good clothes!" she ran her fingers through her hair.

"I have plenty of nice clothes, like that blue top that says: I EAT COOKIES"

Justine gave me an 'are you serious look' and dragged me to her room. She picked out a dark blue dress that reached just above my knees. It was a simple, yet elegant dress. Justine also gave me a silver belt to put around it and silver heels.

"I am not wearing heels!" Heels are horrible.

"Dani, don't be difficult. They'll make you look gorgeous!"

“If being gorgeous includes wearing horrible heels then I’d rather stay the way I am"

“Dani, you're such a pain!" she groaned.

“I am not wearing heels, I don’t care. I can handle flats, but no way am I wearing heels."

"Fine" she turned on her heels to find me a pair of flats. I didn't own any fancy shoes. My whole cupboard was full of sportswear, hence the reason why I only have trainers.

Half an hour later, I was ready to go to the party. I had put on the blue dress along with the belt and also the silver princess flats. Justine had styled my hair into elegant curls that ran down my back.

I quickly gave my sister a hug that lasted for a second and ruffled her hair before grabbing my bag and purse and phone.

Mariam's house was only a street away so I decided to walk the length. At the door, I was greeted by a chubby lady (whom I assumed to be Mariam’s mum) who was also wearing a cover around her head. She had emerald green eyes, like my own and a few curly golden brown hairs were poking out from the sides of her scarf (which looked freakishly a lot like mine).  Apparently, she didn’t realise this as she greeted me warmly and told me ‘to wait here whilst she called Mariam for me’.
