After 30 days at the clinic, Connie had over this time began to get some feelings for Topher when she Topher and Roxy had become a close trio in this rehabilitation place together. That night She was on the phone that same night talking to Phil after he called her about what happened to Millie and Paul.

"He What?! He had the fucking nerve to even put his hands on my daughter?!" She cried

"Yeah the guy was mistreating Millie, she came to us and told us everything just sobbing all over me"

"Holy Shitcakes, I knew there was something off with that boyfriend of hers! I had told her time and time again, keep an eye out for that son of a bitch cuz you never know"

"Don't worry Edwards, everything will be fine, I'm taking care of her. I just tucked her in and held her hand until she feel asleep"

"Okay..Okay, fine. Thanks, Phil"

Connie began to choke up a bit and tried to have a quick cry quietly.Right at the same time Topher was walking by and over heard her, he put his ear against the door to listen in for a few more and then decided to go in and see if Connie was doing alright being it sounded like she was crying to him. Topher gave a light knock on her dorm door to get her attention.

"Hello?" Connie said as she quickly wiped her eyes and tried to sound normal

"Hey it's me Topher can I come in?" Topher asked through the door crack.

"Uh Yeah sure hold on" Connie quickly made the beds and tided the floor and then called out "Come on in".

"Hey? You okay? Were you crying?"

"No no I wasn't and Oh, Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine."

"Hey Connie cmon now we've been here almost a month now and I can already tell when you get upset you know I'm here for ya,to talk through things..now what is going on? You're never this depressed" Topher placed a hand on her shoulder using his fingers to rub the back of it.

"Well okay I'm Just dealing with some high school issues going on at home right now with my teenage daughter."

"Oh shit, let me guess boyfriend trouble?"

"Holy fuck How'd you know?"

"I've seen this shit before happen with my girl pal in high school, She will get better soon."

"I hope so too.. it hurts me so much to know I can't be there to hug her and tell her it's okay that I have to do it over the phone in a sugar rehab. I just miss her so bad" Connie said as tears began to pour out realize how much she missed her kids and her best friends. Topher sat down next to Connie stroking her hair, Connie felt a little off with him doing this not knowing that would happen, but she enjoys it and appreciated his company and him trying to comfort her.

"I know sweetie I know..it's very hard but what we're doing is what's best it would be much worse if we were not in rehab. Trust me this will all be worth the wait. I feel you I miss my daughter as well but I have to keep reminding myself that the reason I'm going through the program is for her. Ya gotta think of it this way. You're doing what's good for her and you right now. Just another 60 days and we will be with our families again" Topher said drying her eyes

"We're not even half way done it's excruciating as hell!" Connie said sighing "I wish I never had this damn addiction in the first place!"

"Hey now don't stress it's gonna be fine we will get through this and graduate this whole program together. I will be here for you through the whole thing Connie. We need to lean on one another for support in this. We are going through the same shit and if we stick together I'm sure we'll pull through.."

"You're right..Topher you've given me hope and confidence in myself and I believe that with you by my side I can accomplish anything! Thank you!" Connie sat up and reached over to hug Topher for his super reassuring and kind words to her.

"Aww Hey part of my recovery too. What really helps me is to comfort others and make them feel they can do anything" Topher forcing a awkward smirky looking smile while hugging back leaning his forehead against hers in a very lusty and passionate sort of manner. Connie could also feel dopamine in her body rise with his touch upon her. It felt nice to actually be hugged and comforted after a while by somebody.

Outside in the hallway Jacinto and James were making their evening rounds doing their their daily volunteer work that involved having to go into rooms to tell the residents that it was curfew and lights out.

"Okay I'm gonna take care of rooms 402-410, you take care of rooms 411-420" Jacinto instructed James

"Aw shit man I could go for a 4:20 break right about now. I love me some good ol kush kush"

"James!"

"Okay, okay, God! Can't a guy joke around and try and have some fun while doing some work around here. Not everyone can do things the way you do em Jacinto. Ever had that thought?!"

"Just get on it with it man!"

"Fine now shut it"

James made his way around knocking on each door and opening the door proclaiming things along the lines of "Its curfew time no leaving your rooms until 7am. Good night!" Pretty soon he made his way to the final room 420 which was also Connie's room, he ended up forgetting to knock and opened the door and before he could speak he saw Connie with Topher. Connie and Topher were lying super close together on the bed entangled into each others arms while kissing.

"Oh shitcakes!" Connie gasped as she and Topher pulled away quickly "God damn it James ever heard of knocking!"

"Sorry I meant to and forgot..so uh you guys are a thing?"

"I guess you could say that" Topher said as Connie smiled

"Man look I know he shouldn't be up in my room and it's against the rules but uh Topher I was having a hard time and he was trying to comfort me and we ended well doing a bit more then comforting" Connie replied blushing and laughing awkwardly

"Hey James you won't tell Joshua on us will ya? If so we'll be kicked out of the program and back to where we started and out looking for our next sugar fix. Please man we need to get completely clean!" Topher begged as he held Connie's hand

"It's alright it's cool I'm uh kind of in a bit of a forbidden romance myself and Jacinto can't exactly find out.." James said

"Oh man have you been in contact with Sheila?" Connie asked

"Uh..Maybe....but anyways I won't tell if you don't"

"Deal" Connie proclaimed as she shook hands with James

"Sounds like a plan!" Topher said

"I'll quickly sneak ya back into your dorm before Jacinto sees he texted me saying he's gonna meet me on the next floor anyways what room number are ya?" James asked

"I'm 414"

"Okay I'll let you two share a quick goodbye kiss and I'll get you back in your room before Josh starts his hall patrol in a few minutes"

"Thanks you are truly a brother James" Topher and him shared a fist bump then Topher turned to Connie.

"Goodnight sleep well" Topher said
"Goodnight Topher" Connie said as they shared one last quick kiss and hug then James ducked Topher back into his room.
