You chuckled at the memory of that day. It brought you to the next memory. One that has to do with why you're here today.
"Hayley.. pick up the phone.. pick up the- HAYLEY."
You were calling your friend in a panic."Jesus are you okay-!? What is it!?" She replied, terrified from the yelling of her name.
"A.. Plus sign.. what does that mean-?"
"A plus sign.. on w h a t-" Hayley raised an eyebrow, though of course.. you couldn't see that.
"A certain tes-" you were cut off.
"YOU LUCKY DUCK."
She yelled, pouting over the phone. She had been trying for a baby for m o n t h s with Sal, but had got nothing."Sal is just getting tired of trying.. waah ~ this sucks.." she joked.
"Though really.. I'm so freaking excited for you! How are you going to tell Larry?"You froze. You didn't think about that. You had to tell him, he was the father after all-
You sighed and said goodbye to Hayley. You had like 30 minutes to kill before Larry got back from fixing things around the apartments. You spent that 30 minutes in the bathroom talking to yourself in the mirror, giving yourself a sort of practice pep talk. He loves you. He wouldn't just up and leave right? You were married. He knew how it felt to grow up without a father.. so surely he wouldn't do that to your child.. right?
The front door opened and closed. He was home. You walked out of the bathroom, test in hand. You had prepared a whole speech. You were ready.
Well, you thought.
"Hey Sof how was your da-" you cut him off, throwing the test at him and heard it crash to his feet.
"PREGNANT." you exclaimed. That's all you said. You felt your soul leave your body.
He leaned down, picking it up and looking at it, then looking at you."You're not pranking me are you-? This is our.. right?"
You nodded sloooowly. You suddenly felt his arms wrap around you, then one going up to hold the back of your head.
He was crying.
Crying.
You of course, started crying as well.
That night, you guys went house hunting online. You bought tons of yellow paint and nursery decorations and excitedly awaited the new journey ahead of you.
