Just a little Christmas one-shot. I took a little bit from The Last Five Years. If you haven't seen it, get it together and watch it. It'll bless your life.
You groan as you get out of bed to go to work.
"Winn." You poke your sleeping boyfriend's cheek. "Winn. Get up. We have to go to work."
"No." He grumbles and rolls over. You get out of bed, shower, put on some clothes and he's still in bed.
"Winn! I'm making pancakes!" You call out, hoping it'll get him up.
"No you're not! It's not nice to tease!" He calls out. You huff and go into the bedroom.
"Winn. Get up." He just lays there. You go to his side of the bed. "Are you sick?" He shakes his head. "Then what's wrong?"
"Nothing. I'll catch up with you later. I just love our bed." He stretches out and wraps his arms around his pillow.
"Alright baby." You kiss his cheek and leave.
You walk into the DEO with your coffee mug.
"Winn said he'll be here later."
"Winn?" J'onn says in confusion. "He's not coming in."
"What? He just told me he was."
"He told me yesterday that he wasn't coming in today."
"Hm." You say. You pull your phone out and text him.
So you're just not coming into work today?
Winnie the Pooh: I've got a surprise waiting for you when you get home.
You smile to yourself.
I can't wait.

You get ready to open the door to your apartment after and grueling day of fighting aliens, when Winn quickly opens the door, steps out and closes it.
"What are you doing?" You ask in confusion.
"Give me your bag." You hand him your purse and your mug and he puts them in the apartment and closes the door.
"Winn... what's in the apartment..."
"It's not a puppy."
"Damn it." You deadpan. "Then what is it?"
"You need to close your eyes."
"Winn... it's late and it's been a long day."
"Just close your eyes." You sigh and close your eyes. Winn takes your hands and pulls you into the apartment. "Ok. Open your eyes in 3... 2... 1." You slowly open your eyes and everything comes into focus.
Winn took the day off to decorate the apartment. There are Christmas lights and decorations hanging and a Christmas tree in the corner.
"Winn..."
"You hate it. I knew I should have used less lights."
"No, no. I love it." You look around in amazement. "This is better than a puppy."
"Really?"
"No. But this is just as nice." You look at your boyfriend. "I love you."
"I love you." You walk over to the tree to look at the cute ornaments. Winn starts playing music and you immediately recognize the song. It's the Schmuel Song from The Last Five Years. And it's really weird because Jeremy Jordan looks so much like Winn, it's uncanny.
You sit down on the couch and Winn begins to sing to you.
The two of you sing along to your favorite part
Na na na na na na na na
Y/N, you get to be happy!
Na na na na na na na
I give you unlimited time!
Na na na na na na na
I love you and want you to be happy! You stop singing because Winn begins to ad lib.
I know you wanted a puppy, I hope this will do
Before I finish I have one thing to ask of you
Take a breath
Take a step
Take a chance...Take my heart
Winn digs in his pocket and gets down on one knee.
"Oh shit."
Have I mentioned today
How lucky I am
To be in love with you?He opens the box to reveal a ring. "So whaddya say?"
"I'm glad it's not a necklace."
"... is that a yes or a no?"
"Oh sorry. Yes! Yes! Yes!" Winn takes the ring out of the box and slides the ring on your finger and hug. You laugh. "This is much better than a puppy."
"Are you for real this time?" You nod. "Well damn. I guess I have to take it back then."
"What? You really got a puppy?"
"No." He laughs. "But wouldn't it have been cool if I did?" You lightly hit his arm.
"You did enough." You kiss him.
"You want to go yell it out the window?" You nod happily. You run to the window, open it and stick your head out.
"I'm engaged!" You yell. Winn laughs. You bring your head back in. "You know, we have to consummate this momentous occasion."
"I'm good with that."
"On one condition. You sing Shiksa Goddess while we do it."
"Done." Winn picks you up and throws you over his shoulder. "I think you should call J'onn and tell him we're not coming in tomorrow."
"Good idea."
