yay so I finally decided to update after like... a year or something =/ oops. But I did edit the first chapter yesterday so yup I'm finally getting back. Dedicated to EKShortStories for fanning :)  Hopefully I'll actually finish one though.... :) Well here it is:

I hesitantly walked through the doors of the institution. A long a narrow hallway greeted me with small doors from either sides of it. The walls were painted a beautiful fairytale-like scenery however with the years of neglect the once vibrant colours were all dull and had began to fade into each other.

Still, no memories came to mind.

I was led by a lady who introduced herself as Ms.Katy. She was the director, or at least that's what she said. At this point I could only trust what everyone told me. It was a sickening and vulnerable feeling knowing that I had to trust and believe without doubts of the words coming from her mouth.

Every now and then a curious head would peep out and look at me. One girl in particular struck out to me, however it was more of a gut feeling. She had rusty orange hair and freckles splattered everywhere. Once we had made eye contact however, she quickly glared at me and went back inside her room. As I walked pass her room I could only hear fragments of her voice. "Ceci, that ditch is back."

How odd, perhaps my nickname here was ditch. I could no longer feel myself thinking anymore. I had no reactions to this place. Just like a ghost, I glided down the hall only taking in information but never reacting to it. I was numb.

From one thought to another, I blinked and there was a bed underneath me. I whipped my head to the door and Ms.Katy walked towards me, almost towering over me.

"Now listen here Melissa, you have been nothing but trouble since the moment I've laid eyes on you. It almost seems like you have to relearn the rules here. However I don't have to teach them to you, the other girls will have to discipline you themselves. Tomorrow, you'll be going straight to school. This institute cannot afford and put up with your selfishness. Starting from tomorrow we will be sending you to a school seperate from the other children."

I felt a sharp slap against my face with such a sharp force that I heard my neck crack.

" That was a sneak peak of what will happen if you do no behave! Be up and in the main hall at 6 am sharp tomorrow. There will be a taxi to take you there, thank god for government funds. If you ask me, a young lady like yourself doesn't deserve an education."

With that said she turned and walked out, but not before I heard her mutter "no wonder you were abandoned."

First day back, I could already taste my future on my tongue. Painful, just like the cut in my mouth from when she slapped me. I could taste the iron on my tongue. The doctor had said that I was found in a terrible condition. That had made me curious but now, after being slapped, I was probably beaten up by Ms.Katy.

This is going to be a tiring journey. I kicked off my shoes and hugged my pillow, feeling the effects of the medication that the doctor had given me before I left, I was slowly drifting to sleep. However, before I fell asleep, there was a beam of moonlight that shone on my wrist where there was a long gash and the skin was still puckered and 3 shades darker. how odd... however my mind did not let me linger much more and the darkness crept over me.

I drifted to my sleep, and my entire day and my dreams collided, making it hard for me to differentiate reality from my dreams.

My head seemed to be rolling all over the place. I look around and there was the redhead that I had seen the day before. Rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, I see two blurry figures in front of me. Slowly my vision became clearer.

In front of me are two girls. The girl from yesterday and another one asian girl who looked like a goth. Why are these people in my room? Were they my friends?

"Come on, it's 5:50 and I'm sure you didn't set an alarm." said the asian one.

"We just know you too well" added the redhead.

They reached down to grab my arms. Just when I was half standing they dropped me again, causing me to fall hard onto the rock hard bed. I winced as my body collided with the "bed" if that's what it can even be called.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! It's cuz yaknow, I forgot to introduce maself and that kinda just like shocked me! Wow I feel soo clumsy, I'm sorry, I totally didn't mean to do that!"

"Wow we really are forgetful today. But Ceci, You really are so dumb, you know that the beds are hard! Anyhow, My names Scarlett Thay and this is Ceci Meng." she motioned towards the asian goth looking girl.

They seemed perfectly harmless but there was something about their tone of speaking that didn't feel right. Almost as if they were mocking me. They linked their arms with mine and dragged me to the main hall. I was probably just over analyzing the situation.

We walked buy a table full of muffins, and each took one.

"catch! I got you the last choco chip muffin. It's your favorite remember?"  I felt my stomach grumble and my mouth start to salivate. I don't even remember the last time that I've even eaten something and chocolate chip certainly sounded appealing.

My teeth sank into the cold squishy "muffin," and took a bite. I chewed a bit and felt a slimy skinned object, suddenly I felt blood pounding in my head and my throat was starting to close up. I dropped to my knees and clutched at my throat.

"Shit! That was a blueberry muffin. Scarlett! You know she's allergic! Why are you still standing there! Run to her room and grab her epi pen!"

I coughed and then  felt a rush of air reaching my lungs. I opened one eye and saw Ceci, Scarlett and a bunch of other unfamiliar face crouched beside me.

"Make way! Move! Hurry up you pathetic kids and MOVE OUT OF MY WAY!" soon the group circling me had backed away to give room to Ms.Katy.

I felt the collar on my shirt was pulled up and she started dragging me outside. My feet were tripping over each other as she opened a taxi door and threw me in there along with my backpack. She slammed the door and patted the trunk of the taxi, signalling for the driver to take me away.

Rise and shine, I thought sarcastically to myself.
