Luke's POV
The classroom door creaked open and all we could hear was the sweet melodious voice of a stranger and she whispered something about a date to someone outside the room.
When she stepped into the classroom and had noticed the filled class, a lovely rose of blush spread along her cheeks.
I shook my head to myself. Why was this girl affecting me so much?
I look once again and gasp in shock. How is this possible? Melissa McAblin! Why is she at Eastview High? It couldn't have been because...
I once again shake my head, hoping to toss away the premonition of my thoughts. NO I will not remember those times again.
But a part of my thoughts still lingered... She couldn't be here to get revenge on me right?
I almost laughed at myself when that thought came into mind. Yeah right, Melissa Angelina McAblin and revenge? impossible! She was one of the sweetest angels that I've ever known. A kind girl that never held grudges on anyone. It was because of this trait of hers that has caused her so much pain.
Images of a beaten down, tear streaked girl flashed before my mind and I once again banished such thoughts away.
But in this short summer vacation she has changed so much. Her entire attitude seems to have refreshed to how it was the first time I had met her.
I smiled weakly to myself in despair knowing that although the both of us are in new surroundings, she'll never talk to me despite being impossibly sweet. Despite the fact that I won't get the same peer pressure I'll still have lost the oppurtunity to deserve a clean slate.
As she walked past me, a scent of fresh strawberries left its trail and was proof that this beautiful girl was real and had walked back into my life.
I left my old school just to leave all those harsh people that I had called friends, and had hoped to escape from everything, even my past, the things I had regretted doing, but yet here she comes, gliding into my life once again.
She took the seat behind me, and I straightened my posture a little, trying to look taller.
I felt a light tap on my shoulder and when I had turned around, I stared in awe at her. I felt my lips part as if I was shocked and then I was brought back into reality.
She gave me a small shy smile that reached her doe like eyes and held out a sheet of paper towards me. "I believe this is yours, the name says Luke and you look like a Luke... right?" as she waited expectantly for my response.
What does she mean by I look like a Luke? I've gone to the same school as her since grade 3, yet her smile seemed so genuine.
I awkwardly smiled back and took my sheet back slowly, just waiting for the deserved slap across the face after all that I've done to her.
Yet the slap that I was waiting for never came. The only thing was the sharp command of the teacher trying to get me to turn back to the class at hand. "Luke, turn around and stop socializing, I know the new girl is interesting and all, but please don't flirt in my class!"
Embarrassed I turned around and cleared my throat. Behind me came a light breezy giggle and a light whisper of a "sorry."
Just that caused a ripple of goosebumps to crawl up my arm. This girl really turned my senses crazy. What made it worse was that it was a girl that would never accept me despite everything that I would try.
The teacher droned on and on and all I could hear in my head was the ticking of the clock. And with a mind filled of nothing but her, class seemed to somehow pass with a loud ring of a bell.
As I packed my bags, the bright eyed goddess had walked to my side and waited for me politely to pack my stuff causing my fingers to stumble even more.
After my bag had been slung onto my back, I turned my attention towards her once more. Perhaps now was the time that I would receive the much deserved slap? Yet again nothing.
"hii..." she said drawing out the i.
"You probably have noticed that I'm new by now, but anyways I'm Melissa, Melissa Angelina McAblin but I have not problem with you calling me Mel.
Something was seriously wrong here. Yet the only reason that I could come up with was that she had somehow lost her memories. But... that can't be...
"So umm what class do you have now? Hopefully Amhist? I have noo idea where it is, and it'd be sweet if you could guide me." She said with a wink as she took hold of my arm and started walking the opposite direction of the room to American History.
I let out a held back chuckle and held out my arm so it was easier for her to hold. "I can take you there, since I have Spanish now but you're going the wrong way...."
Melissa's POV
"-- but you're going the wrong way..."
I felt the heat rush to my cheeks as I pursed my lips to say a silent "oh."
I let him guide me down the hall and felt nothing but a warm and gentle sense of comfort as if we had already established a sense of fimiliarity.
Perhaps in our past lives we knew each other? Wow I am so cheesy, but I really do believe in the whole past life and reincarnations kind of stuff.
Whatever it was, there was some kind of connection that I felt around him that was for sure. Seems like school really puts the bright sides into my days.
