"Do you mind explaining to me why you forget about him? I'm sure you guys had a very close relationship before, he seemed so sad when he found out that you don't remember him, you rascal."

Jin put his hands up, stopping her. "Wait a second. What are you talking about? Forgetting who?"

"Hope!" She exclaimed, feeling so pissed. "The snow fairy. Why did you mention snow fairies to me in the first place if you forget about him?"

"I never said that I forget about him!" He responded immediately. "I will never forget Hope, Seol. Have you lost your mind?"

She became silent at his statement.

"Then why didn't you react when I mentioned his name? Why didn't you tell me that he's the fairy you're talking about?" She questioned, totally confused with the situation.

"Calm down, Seol. Don't be like this, come on." Jin sat her down, before he himself took a spot beside her.

There was a long silence between them. Haseol calming herself down, and Jin figuring out the right way to explain.

"We were childhood friends back then. We were so close even." He started, earning a look from the girl.

"He was a human before, but his life was quite miserable." He sighed, remembering the sad old days. "His parents passed away when he was twelve, and he lived alone since then. He was lonely, he only had me."

She was surprised, but decided not to ask. She let him complete his story.

"So I call him Hope. To bring hope into his life, to let him know that hope exists."

"One day, a snow fairy came to him. She asked him if he wanted to come with her and became a fairy just like her." He continued. "He would forget everything about his past life as a human, and would completely become a new person as a fairy. Everyone who knew him would also forget about his existence."

"At that moment when he was about to leave, I came. I begged him not to leave, but he already made up his mind. So I decided to make a request to the snow fairy."

"What did you request?"

"I wanted both of us not to forget each other. Finally, she left with him, and my request was granted."

That was touching. Her heart felt full at their pure friendship. "You've done well, Jin."

"We met every year on Christmas, our friendship was still going strong until one day, the fairies were told that it's forbidden to see human in their true selves." He sighed once again. "And since Hope was a fairy, it was impossible for us to see each other again. So he left."

"And I never heard of him anymore until you told me that you met a guy named Hope." Jin turned to her, smiling bitterly. "I thought it was just another Hope, but turned out, it was really him."

He started crying, and Haseol realized that Jin was missing Hope too, as much as Hope did.

She hugged him tight, hoping that it would help to comfort him.

"It's okay, we'll see him again." She told him, knowing that what she said was just a hopeless wish.
