The NCIS team gawked at the sight of Asgard. Thor led the way confidently, Loki behind him. Gibbs, Tony, and Bishop walked behind them.
As they entered the city, Asgardians stopped to stare at the group, their faces paling when they saw Loki.
The team hurried it up and reached the palace quickly. At the sight of Thor, the guards reluctantly let them in.
The throne room loomed before them. Odin sat on his throne, glaring angrily down at the group. Thor knelt before his father, while the four NCIS agents stood before the throne. Loki mocked standing to attention.
Frigga walked into the chamber, and her eyes instantly grew sad at the sight of Loki, before growing concerned.
"Thor!" Odin thundered. "Why did you bring that...war criminal before me?"
Loki bristled at the insult and Frigga shot a glance at Odin. "That's your son!" she hissed.
"I told you this was a bad idea," Loki said demurely.
"And why are there mortals in Asgard?" Odin added angrily.
Gibbs stepped forward. "King Odin, we brought Loki here because he's having these debilitating headaches. He did not want to come back, so I and my team came to give him our company."
Odin was taken aback by Gibbs' quiet, respectful words. His expression showed that he didn't know how Gibbs dared to speak to him. "And who are you?" he asked.
"I am Leroy Jethro Gibbs, NCIS Special Agent," Gibbs responded, holding up his badge. "With me are Special Agents Tony DiNozzo and Eleanor Bishop."
Odin acknowledged their presence by a flick of his eyes. "And why are you here?"
"We're here with Loki," Gibbs replied.
"Why?" Odin demanded. "Surely you're not here to beg me to let you keep him?"
Tony coughed uncontrollably into his hand.
"Actually," Gibbs considered, tilting his head. "We are."
"Not begging," Bishop muttered. "I won't beg for him."
Irritated, Loki shot a glance over his shoulder at Bishop.
Odin was so shocked by Gibbs' statement that there was silence for a few moments. Interest flared in Frigga's eyes and she looked at Gibbs with sharp curiosity.
"You want him back?" Odin asked in astonishment.
Gibbs allowed himself a slight smile. "Yes. He works well with my team, King Odin. I would like to have him join us again."
Frigga and Odin exchanged a glance, making Loki sigh. By the looks on their faces, Odin couldn't believe anybody could want Loki back, and Frigga was ecstatic that he was finally fitting in. He rolled his eyes dejectedly. Oh, what faith his parents had in him!
"We'll be happy to send him back with you," Frigga said. "Odin, your thoughts?"
Odin regarded Loki doubtfully before swinging his gaze around to Gibbs. "Are you sure?" he asked.
"Yes," Gibbs said. "He has insights into our current case, and has already saved the lives of two of my agents, Bishop and DiNozzo."
Odin and Frigga both looked at the two agents, who nodded and muttered assent.
"Take him to the healers," Odin ordered. "Thor, you know the way. Agent Gibbs, I'd like to speak with you."
"Bishop, DiNozzo, go with him," Gibbs ordered. "I'll meet you there."
