That week was probably the best week I could remember having...Ever. I got closer to Felix, Hyunjin, and Seungmin, got to go watch Hohyeon and his ten-man band who had yet another Jisung practice, and my parents were leaving this weekend! Of course that meant I'd have to spend every waking hour with them, but they were leaving!
I woke up early to get ready for my day with my family. I got ready quickly, covering the cuts that my clothes didn't hide with makeup. When I was satisfied with my appearance, I went downstairs to meet Junhong.
When I got down the stairs, my parents and Junhong were already there and waiting for me. We left the house almost immediately, giving me barely enough time to grab a banana for breakfast before we left. As always, we were traveling by limo (this is where I would be rolling my eyes) and my parents were completely ignoring me, not that I minded as I was texting a group chat of me, Felix, Hyunjin, Hohyeon, Seungmin, Jisung (the one that Felix met, not the one in Hohyeon's band), and Hayoung.
Halfway through the car ride to God-knows-where, my mom suddenly became interested in me. "Young lady, today is a family day, so put your phone away. You can't possibly be listening when you don't look up from your phone."
"And you can't possibly care about what I do considering that you didn't even care that I was here until you saw that I was on my phone talking to people who actually like me." I didn't even bother to look up and just kept texting my friends who were discussing an outing we could do when my parents leave and I'm finally released from their temporary prison.
"Do not make me take that phone!" I just rolled my eyes, looking at her dead in the eyes before speaking.
"Why do you even care if I'm taking part in family conversations? Don't you like hate me or something?" I almost immediately regretted my question when she answered.
"Are you just now catching on to that? I only ever wanted to have one kid. All you ever did was take up resources that could've been used in better ways. If I had a second kid, shouldn't they at least be useful in someway?"
"Gee. Thanks mom. I really appreciate that...But I am useful for something right? Getting the worst bachelor off the market so other girls don't have to worry about having to marry him, right? Oh wait, the one person in this family who actually cares about me talked some since into the people who gave me life to make me even fail in that." I moved the divider between us and the driver before speaking to him. "Excuse me, but can you please stop the car? I suddenly feel too sick to be going out today."
He nodded as he pulled the car over as I gave one last comment to my parents. "I hope you enjoy your family day. I'm sure it'll be much happier with me far, far away where I can't screw anything up."
I got out of the car before anyone could say anything, though I doubted anyone would've stopped me except maybe Junhong, but even he doesn't stand a chance against my mother. I began my long walk home, readying my phone with Naver maps in case I got lost. The longer I walked, the harder it was to hold back my tears. By the time I reached my house, tears were flowing down my cheeks. I ran up to my room and to my bathroom. I grabbed my razor and without thinking ran it over my wrists, cutting deeper than I had intended.
