WeiZhou sighed, putting down the third present he had received from Jae Hwa. His Christmas had been extremely quiet and, well, lonely. Jae Hwa has gone to visit her children in Busan, and Bam and Jackson were celebrating together with Jackson's parents. Jingyu had been forced to stay away by his seemingly evil manager.
So WeiZhou was alone. Sitting in his boyish pyjamas opening the presents that had come for him in the mail. Two from Jackson and Bam. One from his parents, who were currently living in America, since WeiZhou had sent them there a couple years back. They were both getting older, as the air in America was slightly more pure, so they could live a little longer.
But he was lonely. He put down the last gift from Jae Hwa, which was a oversized black hoodie, standing up and heading to go make coffee.
He didn't drink tea as often anymore, opting instead for coffee, which woke him up more. Jae Hwa has noticed and bought him a fancy drink maker, which he would probably plug in after lunch.
But for now, he made a pot of it, pouring in milk and mixing in sugar. He was just about to sit down on the couch with it when a knock sounded at the door.
He groaned, walking over to the door, his bare feet making a padding sound on the hardwood as he made his way.
He opened it, only to grin when he gazed upon Jingyu's face. His shoulders relaxed, and he bent down, putting his mug on the floor and reaching his arms out for a hug.
Jingyu happily complied, pulling WeiZhou into his arms for a too-long hug. WeiZhou hummed when Jingyu began to sway him back and forth.
Jingyu pulled away, kissing his cheek then pinching the same place. "I thought you said you wouldn't be coming."
"I did. But I found a way." Jingyu smiled, taking WeiZhou's hand. "Come help me unload."
Jingyu had brought what looked like hundreds of presents for WeiZhou, but it was really about ten or fifteen.
Jingyu also insisted on watching him open every one. The first ones were simple, bouquets of flowers or hoodies or even jewelry. But the last three were a whole different story.
The first one Jingyu handed to him was big, with holes poked in the top. He could only hope it was what he thought it was.
The wrapping paper off, the tape off the box, and a fluffy little orange and white kitten climbed out, making WeiZhou gasp. The box was immediately thrown aside, but Jingyu grimaced when it was. He moved off the couch, reaching into it and pulling out a sleeping grey kitten. It's eyes were open a moment later, revealing two emerald irises looking back at him.
WeiZhou squealed in happiness, picking up both the kittens and placing them in his lap. Jingyu sat himself across from Zhou, watching him coo over the little cats with heart eyes.
"Jingyu, I love them." He looked up, grinning. "What's their names?"
"The orange one is Jason, because he was born on Friday the 13th. And the grey one is Vasa. I got her from the Russian lady who lives next to me." He smiled, leaning forward and kissing WeiZhou. "Open your next gift."
"Okay, but it better not be sex toys." He bit his lip, picking up the present.
"In that case, open it later." Jingyu took it out of his hands, putting it behind him. WeiZhou giggled, shaking his head at his boyfriend. Jingyu took a tiny box out of his pocket, wrapped in red and green paper. "There's one more here. But, I think I should present it to you."
WeiZhou didn't realize what it was until Jingyu had pulled off the wrapping paper and stood up, but it was too late for him to do anything but bring his hands to his mouth and gasp as Jingyu got down on one knee.
The box flipped open to reveal a gold ring, with five diamonds around it, embedded in the gold.
"Xu WeiZhou, I love you." He smiled. "I want to be with you forever. Please let me be yours. Marry me." WeiZhou couldn't do anything but nod, feeling overwhelmed by the turn of events. Jingyu put his other knee on the ground, sliding the ring on WeiZhou's finger.
He then wrapped his arms around him, hugging tight as WeiZhou attempted to stifle sobs into his shoulder. He patted a warm back, kissing the spot under a jawline to bring him back to earth.
When WeiZhou finally pulled away, his first move was to kiss Jingyu, soft and gentle, linking their hands together. Jingyu hummed, leaning more into the kiss, pushing WeiZhou's back into the floor.
