Danzo

"I'll help." I looked up at Sakura.

"Yeah, alright." I smiled at her and looked down at Naruto. "This might take a while." I said softly and Sakura nodded in agreement. I moved one of my hands and placed it on Naruto's forehead and the skin on his face gradually began to return.

"Captain Yamato, can you teach me the jutsu you used to stop Naruto?" Sakura asked.

"It's impossible." I said without looking at her.

"Why?" she asked.

Captain Yamato then explained to her why it was not possible.

"Owww!" Naruto said holding his neck and sitting up. "What happened?" he asked. "I was chasing Orochimaru, and then... huh what happened?" he asked.

I smiled as he was back to his loud idiotic self. Sakura punched him and I caught him as he fell backwards. "You should really chose your words more wisely dummy." I said pinching his cheek and he smiled cheekily.

"Wease wet go ov me" He said and I let go of his cheek.

I saw Naruto was looking around and was looking at the bridge. "Don't worry about it." I said to him and held his hand. He looked at me and nodded.

"Right now, Sai is.. traveling together with Orochimaru." Captain Yamato told us.

"Together?" Sakura asked. He nodded in response. "Why would he?" She asked.

"Both of you, follow me." he said and led us to the place where Naruto and Orochimaru fought.

"The earth is still soft.." Naruto said kicking the ground a few times, "the bridge is busted, and this place is in such an awful state.. what the heck.. happened?" he asked.

"You don't remember?" Yamato asked him and Naruto seemed to start thinking on it.

"Come to think of it.. why was I unconscious?" he asked.

"You were unconscious because you were creamed by Orochimaru." Sakura said.

"Are you serious?! Damn!" he said and I smiled at how easily he believed that.

"Sai's things are scattered all over the place. But why is this here?" she asked seemingly to herself.

"If he had to leave something so valuable behind, it demonstrates that he was in a tense state while in front of Orochimaru." Yamato said.

"You seem to know that as if you witnessed it yourself." Sakura said to him.

"I placed my wood clone here and was in communication with it, using the wireless radio implant." he explained.

"What happened to Sai?" Sakura asked.

"He left with Orochimaru and Kabuto after talking with them. My clone was too far so I couldn't make out their conversation." Yamato said.

"Maybe he was forced?" Sakura asked.

"No, it sees that he approached Orochimaru voluntarily, and handed him something. It was just like he was trying to cozy up to Orochimaru." Yamato said.

"Wait a minute! Even a disgusting guy like him wouldn't betray us, would he?" Naruto asked.

"It's possible." I added and glanced at Yamato and he seemed to be thinking the same. I looked at Sakura and it seems she also knew about Danzo.

"Captain Yamato, would you happen to know a person named Danzo?" she asked ihm.

"Yes, I know him." Yamato said.

"And (Y/n)?" she asked and I nodded.

"I know him as well." I answered crossing my arms, "Though probably not as much as Captain Yamato." I added.

"Who is... that guy?" Naruto asked.

"A man, who in the past, opposed the 3rd Hokage." Yamato said briefly.

"He's Sai's boss... and an old gramps who doesn't think well of the 3rd Hokage's will." Sakura added.

"Danzo may be using Sai to make some kind of move." I said.

"It's possible that.. Sai may have been given a different mission by Danzo. There is a possibility that he was charged... with some kind of secret mission." Yamato said.

"So, he's just using our mission.. in order to make contact with Orochimaru?!" Naruto asked.

"That's the gist of it." Sakura said.

"This may sound like an over the top theory...but it is not outside the realm of possibility, so listen carefully. Danzo, may be trying to destroy Konoha!" Yamato said to us.

"Hey, what do you mean by destroy Konoha?" Naruto asked.

"I mean, today's Konoha." Yamato said.

"Today's konoha?" Sakura asked.

"That means, Lady Tsunade will.." Sakura realized.

"You're right." Yamato nodded.

"This is just turning into a big theory. If we want to know the truth, then we should go after Sai and ask him ourselves. If he doesn't know or won't tell us, then we have to talk to Lady Tsunade. Speculating won't do us any good." I said.

"(Y/n)'s right, let's get going right now." Naruto said.

"My clone is following them now, but there is no way of knowing what might happen, so yes, let's start our pursuit." Yamato said.

"Okay.." Naruto said and started to stretch his arms. " Let's go!..." Naruto then started to slouch over.

"Naruto?" I asked and he fell forward. I quickly caught him and landed on my butt, with Naruto's head on my chest. "Oi, Naruto!" I called and held his arms and shaking him a bit. With much effort, I managed to turn him around so he was facing upwards, and he was taking breathing deeply and shaky.

"Captain Yamato..." Sakura turned to Yamato.

"Sakura, we better get going... " Yamato said.

"I know we should catch up right now, but.." Sakura argued.

"Captain, he's in no condition to chase after Sai." I said looking up at him.

"In that case, we'll leave him." Yamato said.

"He should have enough strength to get back to the village on his own." Yamato said.

"Kakashi sensei would never say that!" Sakura argued to him.

"Sakura... Sakura.. I'll be alright.." Naruto said holding Sakura's hand. "I can make it.." he said then flinched in pain.

"Dummy, don't strain yourself." I said and he smiled at me and leaned on me more.

"Help me sit up.." he whispered and I nodded and did as he asked, but kept a hand on his back.

"Sakura, I know what you're trying to say. On top of that, I've teamed up with Kakashi in the ANBU black ops unit before... I also know the kind of person he is. It's true I'm filling in for Kakashi. But, I'm not Kakashi. I'm sorry, but I can't just say, 'I won't let you get hurt,' with a laugh. You're no longer apprentice ninja in need of protection, but shinobi shouldering the protection of Konoha who will have to eventually surpass Kakashi. Compassion and co-dependence aren't the same thing. If we give up now, it'll end in failure. If we don't follow now, we're never going to catch Orochimaru. There is no second chance with Orochimaru." Yamato said to her.

"Captain, I'm willing to stay with Naruto and catch up later." I said looking at Yamato.

"Naruto, what are you going to do?" Yamato asked him.

"Of course, I'm going." Naruto said standing up, shakily.

"Naruto.." I sighed helping him stand.

"I'm okay..." he said and pushed my hands away. "If I went back to the village now, I wouldn't know why I came this far." he said with a small laugh.

"Fine, but if you slow us down, we'll have to leave you behind, got that?" Yamato asked and Naruto nodded.

"Let's go." I said and we all started our pursuit. Though I made sure to stay close to Naruto.
